Another entry in a nearly endless string of Italian variants on George A. Romero's zombie films, Andrew Bianchi's Le Notti del Terrore borrows its scenario most heavily from Night of the Living Dead. ... read more read more...The story opens with a loony professor unsealing a crypt and releasing voodoo-animated corpses, who immediately make up for lost time by devouring him and every other living human within reach. They eventually gate-crash the professor's posh country villa where a collection of painfully annoying upper-crust types are throwing a party... and since these jet-setters are also phenomenally stupid, the shambling zombies are soon enjoying a human buffet. Virtually plotless, this silly little gore-fest may hold a certain perverse appeal for those looking forward to seeing these obnoxious characters eaten alive (at least the zombies have the good sense to keep silent). The most outrageous scene comes when a young mother is so overjoyed to see her weird, huge-headed son (played by an adult dwarf) back from the dead that she immediately decides to breast-feed him! ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

A professor with an interest in ancient death rites invites three couples - one bringing with them a strange man-child called Michael - to spend some time in a lovely, old Italian villa. Unfortunately the professor himself ends up being killed by ancient Etruscans before being ab... read morele to greet his guests. This does not seem to bother the visitors too much, however, as they soon embark upon a mission to have sex in every corner of the entire estate. Not putting up with this desecration of their ancient burial grounds - or perhaps with a desire to join in on the action - the Etruscan zombies leave their tombs and begin to hunt down the poor unsuspecting visitors. Gore ensues.

With the exception of the few zombies that looked more like they had died a bit over two weeks ago instead of well over two thousand years ago, the zombies were exceptionally well executed.

A decent Zombie flick this one. Has it's gory memorable moments, the Zombies look decayingly suitable and there's bizarrely a bit of incest thrown in! A unique little Zombie film to say the least, but one not to be missed for lovers of trashy Italian horror.

Midget in the role of a incestuous son. More disturbing than it sounds.

Damn good Italian Zombie flick. Not much to say as far as plot goes. Very simple and comparable to Night of the Living Dead. The make up effects were delightfully repulsive. Solid gore. Atrocious dubs. Beautiful Italian women. A manchild and his incestuous relationship with his m... read moreother. Worms and maggots. Boobies. Dope soundtrack. Zombies so sloooooow their barely moving. Great sense of atmosphere. Slow motion and extreme close ups. Yup. A lot to enjoy here. Solid genre flick for sure.

Hilarious, disturbing and fucking gory. This is definetly one for euro shock fans only. It's such a weird story and there's this strange insest thing happening too.

Any film with a man-child has 5 stars immediately. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

In actuality this movie isn't really that good. The acting is horrible (the reaction shots of these actors are priceless), the characters are so idiotic that the scariest thing in this movie is the thought of having to be in this situation with people this stupid, some of the zo... read morembies look like they used paper mache instead of make-up, and the plot is nothing original (when there's a plot to follow, that is). This movie is more like an experiment in sleaze. It's the type of movie that you watch for a cheap thrill, not for any artistic reason. But if cheap thrills are all you're looking for then this movie should hold you over for a while. There are plenty of graphically violent deaths (the nipple biting scene being my particular favorite), a couple of titties (pretty much a given in Italian zombie films), a guy who plays a twelve year old who looks like Dario Argento if The Tall Man from Phantasm got a hold of him and shrunk him down into one of those little dwarf things, and even a little bit of incest. You also get the added bonus of classy lines such as, "You look just like a little whore, but I like that in a girl", or "You're getting a raise out of me alright, but it has nothing to do with money". And did I mention how stupid the characters are? Seriously, I've seen some dumb groups of people in horror movies, but these have got to be some of the most comically stupid people I've ever come across. So if you're like me and need at least a monthly dose of sleazy exploitation you could do a lot worse (you could also do a lot better, but that's beside the point).

Well I knew this wouldn?t be too great, but it?s part of my zombie movie completist regimen. It?s filmed in Italy, in the countryside and ruins and old mansions, so of course it?s a beautiful setting. And I have to say, the fun doesn?t stop from start to finish.
Let?s just make a... read more list, shall we?

Crazy beard man to zombie: ?No, stop! I?m your friend!?
Zombie makeup seemingly done entirely with mud.
    Weird gross makeout scene.
Apparently unintentionally strange boy-man with Oedipus complex.
    Dean Stockwell/Robert Goulet hybrid.
    Slowest decapitation scene ever filmed.
    Hot zombie babe.
Zombies use teamwork to operate battering ram.
    Zombie monks!

What more can I say? Overall, very entertaining.

very cheesy movie but it worked in the end. The little kid freaked me out more than anything. Check it out if you love the zombies.

It featured a very disturbing character and subplot that pushed it out in front of the pack (not that zombies move very quickly, so it's easy to outdistance them). Full Review
