If you still think that a good casting will make a good movie, see Larry Crowne and think again.

It's a funny movie, Tom Hanks did a good job with it. He directed it, starred in it, co-wrote the script, that's a good job,
for me I enjoyed it a lot, thanks for the person who's watched it with me -

I wanted this to be better. It was cute...but not fantastic. I did enjoy this movie in a low level way - liked it enough to sit thru the entire thing. But it's really a lack luster script, and story. Hanks, and Roberts, both seem to flail a bit in trying to keep their characters ... read more

What happens when a hard-working guy gets laid off? If you are in a movie, you go back to school to get your college degree and totally change your life around! The movie feels like fluff even though it was co-written by someone from my home town.

November 18, 2011fb535316333A delightful formulaic modern fairytale for the middle-aged man. Though it lacks the comedic flare to sustain it's subtlety gentle handling the cast is remarkably well versed in their characters and brings the color back in.
Thanks to Cranston, Hanks, Roberts, Takei and many oth... read more -

Very good film! Directed and acted by one of my favorite actors Tom Hanks. What I really enjoyed about this film is the way both stories come in between Tom Hanks and Julia Robert's characters. ... read more -

Tom Hanks falls in love with Julia Roberts and at first, Julia is like not so sure but by the end Julia Roberts totally falls in love with Tom Hanks and he is pleased with this because he was already in love with her.
Critic Reviews
Larry Crowne is more than a missed opportunity. It's alarmingly, depressingly out of touch. Full Review
Even if you wander into this congealed mess with nothing more demanding in mind than to spend a little time with two charming favorites, do not expect Forrest Gump or Pretty Woman. Full Review
Neither fish nor fowl, Larry Crowne skitters between pathos and shtick, wasting abundant acting talent as it goes. Full Review
When it comes to unemployment-themed cinema, I'll take the greater realism of last year's The Company Men or this year's Everything Must Go over Hanks's too rosy vision of life after the pink slip. Full Review
The film is sometimes gentle to the point of blandness, but it's never flimsy. Full Review
It's about as close to real comedy as a cup of milky tea is to a real meal. Full Review
Neither the relationship of the two leads, nor any encounter between any of the film's other humans, seems to proceed according to the emotional or sociological customs of our culture. Full Review
Larry Crowne doesn't come close to providing the rom-com satisfactions of films attached to the names Hanks and Roberts, or writer Nia Vardalos for that matter. Full Review
This is film as comfort food, and even if it has very little nutritional value, its pleasantly bland texture will help keep you occupied until your next job interview or layoff notice. Full Review
