Surprising winner here which hits all the targets really well, its fun, exciting, well acted and looks good. Surprising because I recall this coming out and the trailer looked pretty dumb really, lots of CGI and not much else really, the effects were pretty special back then, I g... read more

Jumanji suffers badly because of its script. But it's got heart, and thats what keeps it on it's feet. Well, for a short while anyway. It's vastly over rated.

The strange thing is that amongst the films that were made when this was released, this actually felt like a professional had made it.

I was scared of this film as a kid, seriously this film is pretty messed up if you think about it, but its sometimes a fun fantasy film and I enjoy watching it sometimes.

Joe Johnston puts the game in board game, as Jumanji unleashes the jungle fun.

I thought this movie was pretty cool when I was younger and didn't find Robin Williams as annoying as I do now, I even had the board game. Overall, kids will enjoy this movie more than grown ups. It's a silly, but exciting adventure fantasy movie.

DISTURBING, the movie that still disturbs me to this day is the sound of "boom boom boom boom" noise that comes from the box
Critic Reviews
A calculated but very entertaining special effects extravaganza.
Some thrills, but may be too much for little ones. Full Review
Like the rest of Johnston's oeuvre, Jumanji puts vivid characters through paces that will quicken any child's pulse.
This smart, scary film, is still a favorite to dust off and take from the "vhs" bin
All the effects in the world can't disguise the thin plot. Full Review
Great special effects and exciting adventure stuff. A bit of a slow buildup and unnecessarily dead parents.
Unsatisfied with just being cute, this sucker wound up being both fun and clever.
A visually impressive and exhilarating adventure that keeps the suspense, thrills and comedy running high through the surprising end and supplies interesting characters with moving plights that keep t... Full Review
Take away the CGI mayhem and what emerges is a rather touching tale of second chances and innocence prematurely lost. Full Review
