It is what it is. Nothing too spectacular here. Just decent action. Okay acting. Just well what it is.

When it comes to comics, I'm more a DC man (Vertigo) - until it comes to film adaptations that is. When reading my favourite comics, Transmetropolitan, The Boys, DMZ, 100 Bullets, The Invisibles...the list goes on, I think to myself 'They should totally make this into a movie' - ... read more

I knew it was gonna be crap...And I was right. But it was really short...and a way to pass time. Nothing wrong with the cast...they're allright. But it's just a B-Rated film about a C-Rated Superhero. Take it or leave it.....I apperently took it...

"What happened to your face?" some jerk sneers. Hex shoots him, then says, "Cut myself shaving. What happened to yours?"

It's very cool however for me I wanted more. To be truthful it looks fantastic, the camera work and production even the ideas and all but the story felt like an episode for a television series rather than a full on flick. It certainly wasn't boring for me, fro... read more -

It would be a total lie to not recognize the fact that Jonah Hex is a disjointed mess from the story's standpoint. The great, but somewhat out of place Mastadon score/soundtrack mixed in with the generally underdeveloped characters and completely random casting (Will Arnett? Wes ... read more

April 11, 2011fb100000040220993Here's the moment all comic book fans have been waiting for, a Jonah Hex movie. Well, maybe not. I'm not familiar with the comics, and I'm sure those who are would say that the books are much better. Then again, what the hell could be worse? This movie was as unmemorable as i... read more

I agree with most, Megan Fox is a sucky actor, Josh Brolin wasnt at his best, and the story wasnt perfect. But to me I like the Heavy Metal music, I enjoyed Malkovich, and Jonah Hexs face actually looks like that people.

Hmm not heard of the character before? This just seemed like a comic book western for me with a quirky supernatural element. It has a good cast and while not being a bad film, it does feel like there is something missing? It could have been a lot better. It's very short and simpl... read more

In the hands of better filmmakers, I'm sure Jonah Hex would have been a much more intriguing and entertaining western fantasy. Shame really, because the cast is wasted. Josh Brolin is quite good as Jonah Hex, as is John Malkovich as Jonah's arch enemy. Megan Fox is not as bad as ... read more
Critic Reviews
Begins affably enough as a random slew of Leone-style squint-a-thons and shoot-outs but then loses it way in a dopey, anachronism-happy sci-fi plot. Full Review
Calling Jonah Hex a waste of time requires qualification, given the action flick weighs in at 82 minutes. Full Review
Director Jimmy Hayward fails to establish a viable reason for this movie to exist. Full Review
It isn't just that no effort is expended on old-fogey ideas like character development; it's more that Hayward doesn't even try to make individual scenes make sense. Full Review
I think Jonah Hex could have exceeded 80 minutes to make room for some real visual invention. And three-dimensional characters. And a plot. A plot would have been nice. Full Review
Though it has bad word of mouth, "Jonah Hex" is generally better, sprier and more diverting than most of the action flicks now playing, The A-Team included.
The movie is laughable, but it's not funny, not even in a camp way. Full Review
Jonah Hex is cut-and-paste filmmaking at its crudest. Full Review
It's hard to have any thoughts while watching Jonah Hex -- the cranium-crushing soundtrack takes care of that. Full Review
