This year's must see film is a spectacle beyond belief. Spectacular in every detail.
    Bollywood's version of "Ben-Hur" and
"Cleopatra" on a grand scale. The movie iteslf is gorgeous, but it also some of the greatest battle sequences every committed to film including one that feat... read moreures elephants and camels(which was something right outta other movies)but this one is much more brilliant. At a running time of 242 minutes,it is the must see film of 2008. and with good reason.

Long, but it doesn't feel so when you are watching it. It was okay, but I felt the war/fight scenes weren't interesting at all. Beautiful cinematography, a very beautiful film to watch.

This movie was so sweet. The beginning was slow and full of battles and betrayal, but the end was wonderful.

I couldn't make it through this movie. I watch Bollywood movies. I watched and rather enjoyed Lagaan, so I gave this one a try. It has the Dhoom 2 couple. It was epic. And it's a sweeping story. And it bores and drags. I know Bollywood movies are typically longer than US movies, ... read morebut this didn't even really seem to pack story into the minutes.

There weren't any real dance scenes in what I saw, only singing - that I didn't really find appealing. The movie starts with an epic action scene. Not epic with the fighting, but epic in that there are a lot of people fighting. And then it lingers and lingers. It's an hour before you really get the two leads together. And it's another 20 minutes until I have to stop watching.

The beginning feels long and a bit slow. But once a proper introduction of all the characters is given the story picks up. Very epic. Enjoyed it a lot.

Love this movie! Wonderful cast, great story, beautiful visuals and music...basically, an epic film.

Good foreign film about a part of forgotten Indian history. About a brave woman who put away almost everything she loved to help unite her country. In the meantime falling in love with a man who did not believe her, until it was almost too late.

Full of energy and love. A true Hollywood epic movie. The message about religious harmony conveyed in this movie still rings true in today's world. Not only a look back into Indian history, but also a look deep into human heart.

A great re-telling of story and setting for a great history. Though there's a huge controversy for the history part of the story (which the whole point of the movie really was), Jodha Akbar is an ideal, Disney-ish version of the history therefore making it an entertaining, romant... read moreic movie. I'll definitely watch it over and over again.

A long-limbed story that is utterly simple in structure, but decorated with enough character interplay and side plots to keep the movie ticking over to a powerful finale. Full Review

Bollywood films, more than films from anywhere else in the world, harken back to the heyday of the Hollywood studio star system with all the glamour and gloss that goes with that.
