A secretary turns small-scale revolutionary in this satiric comedy drama from director Jamie Babbit. Anna (Melonie Diaz) is a woman in her early twenties who has recently graduated from college but is... read more read more... still figuring out what she wants to do with her life. Anna works as a receptionist for a plastic surgeon, but has mixed feelings about how he manipulates women's negative self-image for profit. Anna is also single and a lesbian, and is having a hard time meeting new women after breaking up with her latest girlfriend. One evening, Anna sees a woman spray painting graffiti on the side of the building where she works, encouraging women to not get breast enlargement surgery; Anna is intrigued and introduces herself. The vandal is Sadie (Nicole Vicius), the leader of a group of lesbian counter-cultural pranksters who call themselves "C*nts in Action," or the CIA. Sadie takes a liking to Anna and invites her to join fellow members Shulamith (Carly Pope), Aggie (Lauren Mollica), and Meat (Deak Evgenikos) as they deface billboards and put up homemade sculptures of feminist icons in public parks. Anna likes the CIA and their aggressive style, and she is strongly attracted to Sadie; eventually, they sleep together, but Anna soon learns Sadie already has a longtime companion, Courtney (Melanie Mayron), and she begins to wonder if she can support every position the CIA has embraced. Itty Bitty Titty Committee was voted Best Feature Film at the 2007 South by Southwest Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This is quite simply queer and enjoyable. If you have any interest in queer politics and want some sugar to make the medicine go down, this is a great watch. It's not a story of truly oppressed queers; this motley crew is just doing it because they know it's what they believe in.... read more Perhaps they are young, and some are motivated by booty and fame than legitimate social change, but it is damn amusing to watch them try. The basic storyline is very vanilla, but the concepts discussed and political actions taken by the group are very radical and refreshing. I wish there was a C(i)A in my town.

I actually turned this one off at one point. It seemed not all that good and cringeably stereotyped with the lesbian/militant feminist thing. My husband was in the room and I actually felt embarrassed as it was so anti men and switched it off. Does equality for women have to me... read morean degrading men?! Surely that makes us as bad as what we're fighting against. His comment was that they were all have to be so angry in these films. I don't think it helps the whole lesbian/man hating cliche to keep doing these portrayls, and alienates straight women, who are surely just as likely to be feminists. I was kind of disappointed in this because I really liked "But I'm a cheerleader" - that one actually did have something worthwhile to say.
I decided to watch the end on my own later on, and while it t did improve a little, not enough to change my overall impression. I liked the actress who played Sadie, she was reasonably convincing, and also the older actress who played her girlfriend. The rest of them were very cliched. Disappointing.

"If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." - Emma Goldman

In "Itty Bitty Titty Committee," Anna(Melonie Diaz) is in a rut, having just been dumped by her girlfriend and now on the verge of having to suffer through her sister's wedding. After work one nig... read moreht at a plastic surgergy clinic, she stumbles across Sadie(Nicole Vicius) defacing the building on behalf of Clits in Action.(So, that's what CIA stands for?) Sadie invites her to join the group which commits pranks seeking to enlighten the public on feminist issues. While getting a political education, Anna develops a crush on Sadie who is in a relationship with Courtney(Melanie Mayron), a much older woman.

The moral of the crudely made "Itty Bitty Titty Committee" is not to watch a movie just because it has a cool sounding title. While it is refreshing for a movie to take a radical feminist position with a positive attitude, the acting and characterizations leave a little to be desired, even if one of the main characters is transgendered. In a movie about freedom, it is ironic that Anna is particularly feckless, showing little initiative on her own and almost acting brainwashed. And the climax is spectacularly unbelievable and has little connection to any known reality.

Delightfully campy and feminist comedy - so much fun, highly recommended for girls of the gay and the straight variety.

Here's an interesting one for the mind! Carly Pope and Melonie Diaz are absolutely great in this comedy about a group of friends that try to reflect and express their opinions to the mass. The movie generalizes over their schemes and mishaps. Carly Pope is absolutely hilarious. W... read moreorth seeing.

An excellent movie - not what I was expecting, but in a good way! The acting, cinematography, storyline were all great. One of the best indie films I've seen in a long time.

Cute at parts, but ultimately a waste of time. Poor acting, directing, and uneventful story. Plus the whole vandalism = good thing isn't something I can really get behind.

It's an indy.. but, I like them..

The title really has nothing to do with the movie.. there is a blurb at the very end that mentions the name.. but the plot really doesn't tie in to that.. The acting was good.. some characters seemed to be just thrown in.. (such as Jenny ... read moreSchimizu's character) This is another movie to bring out my inner riot grrl.. and the very brief glimpse of Clea Duvall was another bonus... she's one of my favorites.. even just a few seconds is excellent..

I enjoyed the movie. It was an interesting take on showing a person coming into their own. I love the fact that it actually acknowledged that the world is pretty sexist toward woman.

it was more political and activist based than I expected, which was good. I was pleasantly surprised by the intimate scenes as well.
