While both are happy with their lives in the islands, Jared dreams of finding a major score and living the high life. One day, Jared and Sam are paid a visit by Bryce Dunn (Scott Caan), a childhood friend of Sam's who is now doing very well as a lawyer. Bryce and his girlfriend, Amanda (Ashley Scott), have come to the Bahamas for a few days of diving and fun, and Sam and Jared show them the waters while making use of his yacht. While diving with Sam, Bryce, and Amanda, Jared discovers the wreckage of a plane used to smuggle drugs, and thinks he may have found the big score he's always dreamed of. While Sam persuades Jared that the cargo is too risky to move, Bryce and Amanda think there's a fast buck to be made, and team up with Primo (Tyson Beckford), a local underground entrepreneur, to fence the contents of the plane. However, Bryce and Amanda have underestimated just how dangerous Primo and his henchmen can be, and now Sam and Jared must come to their rescue. Into the Blue was directed by John Stockwell, who previously took filmgoers to the seashore with the surfing drama Blue Crush. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Pretty bad but not awful. This is mainly due to the likes of Scott Caan, James Frain and the great Josh Brolin. It is hard to imagine what Josh Brolin was thinking when he took on this role as his scenes were some of the only interesting things in this film. Also shots of topless... read more Paul Walker and various other desirable men make it watchable.

John Stockwell's direction has always been nothing short of stunning. His composition and use of light against tinted lenses are stunning and always beautiful. It's a shame then that all his film are shite due to crap storylines and awful scripts. Into the Blue is an exception. Review
Into the Blue took the premise of 1977's "The Deep", and put a spin on the story. By spin, I mean they made a crappy remake with only Jessica Alba as redemption. Paul Walker delivered his lines way too zealously, and his "angry" moments were received with a humorous response, probably not intended by the screenwriter/director. Jessica Alba did well with what lines she had, but was underutilized throughout the movie. They basically reduced her to eye candy and gave her no responsibility. The movie had elements of potential, being the great underwater photography, and apparently large budget, but the script and delivery was lacking. The pacing was also irritating. I found myself confused as to why the characters were doing what they did, but hey, who am I to critique Alba. The bottom line is this; this is a movie, not a film. Buy a 6-pack good beer, and watch it not expecting much, or better yet, go watch "The Deep".

Would have been a better movie if it had focused more on the story & characters & dialogue lines and less on bodies & faces, I mean just take a look at the posters, And for the record I hate Jessica Alba

A rather undecided film. It wants to be a thriller, action movie, treasure hunt and doesn't really succeed in any of those genres over the full length. Sure, it shows some nicely formed bodies of both sexes swimming in beautiful waters and all that's really nicely filmed, but is ... read morethat enough to keep an audience not infatuated with the actors watching? The plot jumps back and forth between those different attempts, the humor isn't exactly very funny and there isn't much action to talk about up until the decent showdown. The movie isn't boring either. It just simply isn't much to write home about, despite of all the beauty.

The movie starts off fine with all the treasure hunting etc... but sinks below the depths when they try to do a story. Man it was such a generic and cliched story. The gorgeous shots of jes... I mean the ocean and underwater stuff were awesome though.
