Pretty bad but not awful. This is mainly due to the likes of Scott Caan, James Frain and the great Josh Brolin. It is hard to imagine what Josh Brolin was thinking when he took on this role as his scenes were some of the only interesting things in this film. Also shots of topless... read more

John Stockwell's direction has always been nothing short of stunning. His composition and use of light against tinted lenses are stunning and always beautiful. It's a shame then that all his film are shite due to crap storylines and awful scripts. Into the Blue is an exception. T... read more

Would have been a better movie if it had focused more on the story & characters & dialogue lines and less on bodies & faces, I mean just take a look at the posters, And for the record I hate Jessica Alba

A rather undecided film. It wants to be a thriller, action movie, treasure hunt and doesn't really succeed in any of those genres over the full length. Sure, it shows some nicely formed bodies of both sexes swimming in beautiful waters and all that's really nicely filmed, but is ... read more

The movie starts off fine with all the treasure hunting etc... but sinks below the depths when they try to do a story. Man it was such a generic and cliched story. The gorgeous shots of jes... I mean the ocean and underwater stuff were awesome though.
Critic Reviews
I don't think there's anything wrong with an escapist adventure, but if you're rolling your eyes in disbelief at the plot and the dialogue, it makes it hard to enjoy the scenery. Full Review
The makers of Into the Blue know what the audience wants. And they deliver a little bit more. Full Review
Alba? We'd follow her anywhere, especially Into the Blue. Full Review
The actors swim well, but emote poorly. Full Review
There is nothing about Into the Blue that is going to arouse anything above the waistline, but director Stockwell makes a fair show of it. Full Review
Not a thriller so much as an extremely violent swimsuit calendar. Full Review
Too long at 110 minutes, the movie gets a lot more complicated with its array of peripheral characters. But it's never very deep on characterizations. Full Review
Alas, there is no treasure, buried or otherwise, but only fool's gold in the silly script.
