This unsettling British Alien clone (released in the U.K. under the sleazy title Inseminoid) is set in the labyrinthine underground caverns of a remote planet, where a team of scientific explorers fin... read more read more...d themselves in the bizarre predicament of defending themselves from a rampaging, pregnant crew member (Judy Geeson). It seems the poor woman has been impregnated by a slime-covered insectoid alien (as depicted in a surreal and truly disgusting flashback), and the resulting hormonal imbalance has transformed her into an inhumanly strong, psychopathic killer. She promptly sets about dismembering and eating everyone in sight (no doubt because of the baby's nutritional requirements) before finally giving birth to a pair of snarling little mutants bearing a more-than-passing resemblance to the terror tykes from the It's Alive series. Aside from the admittedly "unique" premise, this is a fairly standard rip-off -- complete with characters resembling their Alien counterparts -- and the lovely Geeson's rabid, eye-popping performance is more than a bit uncomfortable to watch. The American video release is missing a great deal of the original's graphic violence. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

An Alien inspired, English-made B-movie, Inseminoid is low in budget, big on cheese, and rather short on talent. While investigating a deserted planet, a crew of spacemen are hunted by an alien presence with the power to possess and breed with humans. This film cuts every corner ... read morepossible with lazy sets, a clunky script, and a lack of costumes and props. When they are not in their "space suits," the actors look like they are wearing the clothes they showed up to work in - which is a bit awkward for a production set in the "future." Though there is some blood to be had, most of the fight sequences are ridiculous with a true lack of anything futuristic or what would count as science fiction. Case in point, during a big battle, one of the characters appears, armed with an ordinary hammer which she then promptly throws at the enemy. Though some parts are so bad they're laughable, it's more painful than anything else and may only be tolerable while inebriated.

Astronaut archeologists are investigating an ancient alien planet. One of the women astronauts is raped by an alien (isnt that always the case?) and is impregnated with cross-breed alien twins. She gains super-human strength and starts to kill her colleges. Even after she births ... read morethe mix-breeds she is still a major bitch. Her half-breeds take care of the rest of the crew once she is finally killed. Reminds me of a Corman film in many ways. Also released as Inseminoid.
