By projecting himself deep into the subconscious of his targets, he can glean information that even the best computer hackers can't get to. In the world of corporate espionage, Cobb is the ultimate weapon. But even weapons have their weakness, and when Cobb loses everything, he's forced to embark on one final mission in a desperate quest for redemption. This time, Cobb won't be harvesting an idea, but sowing one. Should he and his team of specialists succeed, they will have discovered a new frontier in the art of psychic espionage. They've planned everything to perfection, and they have all the tools to get the job done. Their mission is complicated, however, by the sudden appearance of a malevolent foe that seems to know exactly what they're up to, and precisely how to stop them. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Easily one of the best scifi movies ive seen in a long time. Excellent acting, amazing script, great all around.
  • May 18, 2012
The summer block buster. First started by Stephen Spielberg with the classic, "Jaws". They are known for their high budgets, low quality, and all-star casts. But in Christopher Nolans newest film since "The Dark Knight", he's decided to take the summer blockbuster to a hole new l... read moreevel with "Inception".

"Inception" is about a group of criminals who get paid to break into peoples dreams to steal there ideas through a process called "extraction". But when the gangs leader and most experienced member, Dominic Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is given an offer he can't refuse, he has to do his most difficult job ever and attempt a difficult process called "inception". Now, for the sake of the film, I won't reveal to much exept it was the best 2 and 1/2 hrs I've spent at the movies in a long time. With the perfect cast and an intriguing story that will keep your focus hostage for every second you spend in that theater.

If I had to say anything was wrong with this film, it would be that I found they focused to much on building the character of Cobb and left the other characters as just sterio-types. I did find the characters entertaining none the less. But what really sells this film is the sequences. As Brett has allready said on The Rotten Tomatoes Show, this film gets cudos for having amazing action sequences without the need of 3D. 3D was cool, but we need to give it a break. Actually, this film gets the award for most creatively awsome fight seen EVER in my books. I don't want to go into detail, but remember when that hallway was spinning around in the trailer and that guy was fighting that other guy? Yeah. Oh yeah.

You can deffinitely tell that this film is a Chritopher Nolan:
    1. It has Micheal Cain in it.
    2. It has the same mysterious outlook that you can find in other Chritopher Nolan films like "The Dark Knight" or "The Prestige".
    3. If it looks cool, it's a Chritopher Nolan.
    4. Christopher Nolans films have intense plots with unpredictable twists and intriguing stories, just like in "Inception.
    5. It's really long.
    6. You feel like a piece of wood floating down a river on it's current. Christopher Nolan is the current, controlling your emotions and making them go exactly where he wants them to.

There have been many movies this summer, and there will be many more, but I don't think any of them will live up to "Inception". Let me tell you why; if you are watching this film and nature calls, you'll pee yourself because you don't want to leave the theater.

Whenever Christopher Nolan comes out with a new movie, you know it's gonna be something out of the ordinary. And with all the hype that's been circulating around this one, I just had to check it out on the big screen. Anyhow, it didn't take long before I realised I was in for som... read moreething special. The zero gravity scenes alone knocked the wind out of me, and I got that same great kick as when I saw The Dark Knight for the first time (which is saying a lot, considering it's one of my all-time favourite movies). And although I didn't love this one as much, it's still an amazing tour-de-force, worthy of remembrance. The storyline is mind-boggingly intricate, and about as well-written as a script can be. Nolan is one of exceptionally few directors in this world who knows the formula for a perfectly balanced film. Most don't even come close to his genius and brilliance. So if you're gonna see one movie in the cinema this year, be sure it's this one. It's clever, exhilarating and terrific in all aspects. A mesmerizing experience and one of the best films of the last decade. In other words, don't miss it!

Inception is the most thought provoking film made to be a blockbuster in recent years. Director Christopher Nolan's fine direction and the passionate performances are the greatest traits to admire. The p... read morelot isn't outstanding as you may have heard and it can be seen as pretty revolutionary or pretty stupid but either way I found the film as a whole to be pretty good. But although entirely overhyped it's significant proof that epic scale blockbusters can be clever too.

It takes you to a more different and diverse world, i want to change my dreams like that.

Extremely intelligent and visually astounding, Nolan's exploration into the world of dreams as well as a statement on the power of the subconscious makes this film a classic of its time. The complex design in this alternate reality of a world in which dreams can be entered with t... read morehe aid of machines and not only that, but shared with other people is just mind-boggling. And very much like Satoshi Kon's "Paprika", it uses this technology as means to further individual prospects of personal wealth and power. We are exposed to a complicated and amazing world of dream building, as well as the danger of not only technology, but also of infectious ideas.

I'm extremely disappointed. Nolan has crafted some of my favorite movies: "Memento", "The Dark Knight", "Batman Begins", and "The Prestige". He has creatively delved into the interesting aspects of many of the things that we've become familiar to. On the other hand, "Inception" t... read moreries to create new rules into our knowledge of how dreams function which may seem interesting, but in the end, its all not extremely interesting... particularly because the exposition to explain the rules of the dream world runs throughout the movie for literally an hour and 30 minutes. You think "Donnie Darko" left you out of the dark? "Inception" lets you in way too much, and frankly, when there's a movie about dreams, it ironically leaves the viewers very little to imagine. Too much information is given that once "Inception" dishes out its finale, we, as the viewers, understand that the director's intention wasn't for us to piece together fragments of the narrative much like "Memento", but it was simply cut off and leaves us hanging to make an estimation based on a simple dream world rule... What a foolish move... It's a smart movie and entertaining movie -- I'll give it that, but generally speaking, I didn't care what happened in the movie at all. There's absolutely no character development. "What? There's Cobb & Mal." "Inception"'s narrative for Cobb & Mal totters along with gaping holes and in the end, crashes to a halt. This movie is a cluttered, blockbuster action movie that fails in so many scenes to capture some sort of dramatic impact. I love Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor; he convincingly and realistically performs with a zeal that is heavily due to a deep psychological study of the character that he's playing as. Frankly, Cobb wasn't a character -- the dream world was. The entire movie limits him.

In my opinion, this is Christopher Nolan's worst movie. Sounds like I bashed this movie down to the ground, which I did, but it was still entertaining enough to watch and for it to earn 3 1/2 stars. Nolan's given in into the blockbuster mindset and though "Inception" claims to be a smart blockbuster movie, its coupled with many of the blockbuster annoyances. It's true that Nolan has made blockbuster movies in the past (The Batman series) but this is the first time that the genre has defined Nolan's movie, not the movie redefining the genre.

    Christopher Nolan - 4. My Mind - 0.

My mind has been blown by Memento, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and now....Inception. Easily alongside the top films of 2010, this film is truly unbelievable in every way. Basically, if you have not seen this film, you have waited way to l... read moreong, as I did. You must see this film for yourself! There is so much to be said of it, but so few words that can explain it.

The story is simply brilliant, written by Nolan himself. Dream within a dream, within a dream, within a dream......just when you think you got everything sorted out, Nolan dishes an ending that, like the characters, makes the audience rethink everything they just viewed.

AMAZING special effects! I figured that they would be good, but I was blown away. The slow-mo, the rotating rooms, the anti-gravity scenes....awesome!

Also the cast is great! I do not like Leonardo DiCaprio, but has yet to make a movie that I have disliked, so his average at best performances do not bother me. I love Ellen Page. Marion Cotillard is incredible in this film. I also loved seeing Cillian Murphy again in a Nolan film. The role of Michael Caine is cool too.

Great, brilliant, mindblowing movie! Check it out!

I'm still a little unsure about whether this is a 5 Star film. I loved it, BUT....I'm not a big fan of the ending. I get it and understand it, but I don't really like it. When I think of previous Nolan films like Following, Memento, The Prestige, the endings really added to the film. The ending made the film even more perfect than they already were. But here, I didn't feel it. I have only seen it once so I'm going to give it a second viewing before I say more. Still...pretty brilliant!

Nolan, like Cobb, is an assiduous extractor, and he knows how to wow audiences. But scaling big and thinking big are not the same thing. And dark, just because it's dark, isn't more artistic than light. Full Review
