I really liked this movie. Adam Brody did a good job playing the leading man and Kristin Stewart is amazing.

Sort've light, sort've intelligent, sort've good. It mainly rides on the performances of Adam Brody, Kristen Stewart and Meg Ryan. The latter two definitely make this as good as it is, while Adam Brody basically just plays a variation of Seth Cohen from The O.C. So the mother/dau... read more

I caught about a half an hour of this on TV, and it certainly looked and sound like it was made for this medium. It may be good, but I'll probably never find out. [Real rating pending, I suppose.]

Well, I don't really get this movie very well actually... I know the story is simple, a young man try to refreshing his life after his painful break-up with his girlfriend who is an actress... Then, he found his interesting new life in his grandmother house, with all the women ar... read more

I liked this one. It wasn't exactly what I expected, which was a chick flick type of movie, and I wasn't too sure I liked it until it was almost over, but it was worthwhile watching and well done. Adam Brody is okay in this one and for once I did find his acting quite believable... read more

Incredibly endearing, complicated, and unexpected. Adam Brody is just adorable and Kristen Stewart is HOT, even though she does too much of that Richard Gere blink-acting. Wonderful script, as I would expect from Lawrence Kasdan's son!

I absolutely loved this movie!!! It involved real life situations and that was one of the reasons to love it!!!

I found Meg Ryan to be wonderful in this film (her performance almost worth the price of admission by itself), and there are some nice comic moments from Olympia Dukakis, but, while there are some truths spoken here, much of it comes from an unbelievable source, so losses its pot... read more

This movie revolves around Carter (Adam Brody). He has woman problems. First he breaks up with a hottie, then he goes to live with his dying grandmother, then he causes all three women/girls who live nearby to fall in love with him. Must be nice.
Critic Reviews
The film belongs to Brody, an endearing screen presence. Full Review
This potentially saccharine weepy has an authentic ring, thanks to Jon Kasdan's script and a cast capable of delivering clever lines that sound just about right for whatever situation they're in. Full Review
Brody's apparent ease in his own skin and his skills as a listener make Carter an engaging fellow and make it understandable why, as soon as he moves to town, people start confiding in him. Full Review
One of those films in formed by intimate personal experience -- the experience of seeing Garden State. Full Review
The meek, mopey comedy In the Land of Women is the film equivalent of a sensitive emo band with one foot in alternative rock and the other in the squishy pop mainstream: a softer, fuzzier Garden State. Full Review
Why make a garrulous movie about people in crisis if Olympia Dukakis winds up muzzled? Of all the troubled gabbers in Kasdan's film, the prickliest and most proficient is wasted in a few brief scenes. Full Review
With dialogue that is often precious though occasionally thoughtful, Kasdan has made a film that's not bad, just irritating. Full Review
Kasdan, who also wrote the screenplay, allows a fairly large variety of problems to accrue.
