In its quiet way, Taraneh touches the hot issues -- jail, divorce, teenage love, unwed maternity -- and comes up with a convincing, positive answer to all. Full Review
Taraneh is superbly played by same-named Taraneh Alidousti, whose angelic face is made for the movie camera.
Sadr-Ameli's unflagging empathy and Alidousti's confident performance keep us rooting for this young heroine, who refuses to accept the limits forced upon her by both society and the law. Full Review
