Here's a film that I've been wanting to see for years. I had heard about how graphic it was, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed. Too much build-up I suppose, or maybe just high expectations. I Spit on Your Grave would make a good double feature along with Deliverance. Th... read more

Boring. Not bad, just overrated. It wasn't nearly as violent as I thought it would be. I've seen other, more disturbing, more explicit movies than this from the 70s. This movie felt dry. The actors were average, and the story was too. Overall, it's just okay.

This classic one is the most notorious pictures ever made during the seventies. I watched this on DVD while it allowed to release in my home country during banned for 17 years by the Australian Classification Board in 1987. It's true! This story is familiar to The Last House ... read more

Considering that I Spit On Your Grave has been banned, condemned and villified by almost every mainstream film critic, it was obvious that I would want to check it out. Critics have said this was a more intense version of The Last House On The Left. I somehow disagree. I thought ... read more

I Spit on Your Grave is downright unwatchable for the second act, which in its entirety is a disturbing and extended rape scene where its only purpose is to show Camille Keaton naked. It's length seemed pointless in groundbreaking ways and seriously took away from the straightfor... read more

I spit on your grave is nothing but a shameful and disgusting movie I saw the remake only a few days ago and gave it the same rating a 0%. Like I said it's shameful, disgusting, stupid nothing but your classic rape and revenge film that involves a women going to get back at the m... read more

I Spit on Your Grave is a film that will never be accepted as a serious piece of film-making. This is thanks in part to the gratuitous rape and murder scenes, which don't exactly hold back the shocks; and it's also due to the time in which it was made. These days, as proved by th... read more

One of the original video nasties which had everyone up in arms and I really can't see why its so tame but I guess back in the day things were different. Still hard to see the fuss really, I guess the rape scene is the main sticky point but the whole thing is kinda dull really an... read more

Without the completely overdone rape scenes, this movie would be absolutely nothing. It essentially has zero story, it just centers around a woman getting rape and getting a brief revenge. Nothing else happens really, it's overlong and just pointless in many respects. However, th... read more

I love exploitation films and I love the Video Nasties but this notorious little film is uninventive, badly made and not piratically entertaining. Praised by feminists? Pull the other one!

Gruesome and incredibly exploitative. However, for better or for worse, I Spit on Your Grave shows us the raw, shocking reality of rape, in all its bloody viciousness. Full Review
in the dualistic contours of the rape-revenge subgenre, Zarchi finds a way to position his characters and viewers alike as both aggressors and victims. The results are neither comfortable nor pretty, ... Full Review
A precise and damning indictment of male sexuality, perhaps the most stridently anti-masculine film ever made by a male filmmaker. Full Review
The movie does wield crude and considerable power. Full Review
Still an effective and shocking bit of revenge cinema... Full Review
Salivating gore with classic title.
A montagem peca pela falta de ritmo e as mortes são patéticas, mas os dois primeiros atos do filme chocam pela intensidade com que retratam a violência sofrida pela personagem de Keaton, que, aliás, o...
Simply another crudely made, explicitly violent '70s-era exploitation flick. Full Review
