I Come in Peace is a silly, derivative science fiction exploitation thriller which is a triumph of style and skillful direction, despite a plot that steals elements from numerous good films and mixes ... read more read more...them with some appallingly bad acting. Jack Caine (Dolph Lundgren) is a not-by-the books police officer investigating the death of several people, including his partner, by a gang called the "White Boys." All the victims seemed to have died of drug overdoses, but Jack thinks that there is something more sinister afoot. His investigation reveals a plot by aliens who use the bodies to extract a chemical that is sold to addicts on their home planet. Originally entitled Dark Angel, I Come in Peace, while silly and confusing, has great production values and some excellent special effects. The main reason to see this film is because of the expert direction by former stunt-man Craig Baxley who manages to keep the action moving at a fast pace and tie up the loose ends of the threadbare story. The cinematography by Mark Irwin is outstanding and shows that imagination and a good visual sense can overcome a limited budget and a bad plot. ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi

What on earth is going on with the film title here I dunno but I prefer 'Dark Angel' for sure, anyways this was Matthias Hues big flick for which he is most remembered for which isn't much to shout about haha.

Very silly sci-fi flick about an alien drug dealer sucking endorphins... read more out of human brains to sell galactically, its very hokey even for its time and without Lundgren would be total B-movie schlock. Even with Lundgren its still pretty poor with bad effects, terrible acting with only afew impressive car stunts on hand. I mean really..how can you take this remotely seriously with a gang of thugs called 'The White Boys' that are all dressed in suits and look like killer 80's yuppies lol!

It is a classic dumb sci-fi B-movie for sure but I just didn't really like it that much, Benben was annoying and the whole thing was trying way too hard with the obvious mismatched buddy cop/hero duo squabbling with each other setup...resulting in forced lame humour.

Big Dolph Lundgren tackles even bigger Matthias Hues in this enjoyable sci-fi outing from 1990.

Our Dolph plays a tough cop who inadvertently becomes involved in a spot of alien trouble after a hulking interplanetary miscreant murders a group of bad guys Dolph was staking out (a... read morend high tales it with the haul of heroin they had in their possession). Why would an alien want heroin you may well ask? Well, it turns out that our alien bad boy has discovered a rather gruesome method of producing an even more powerful drug via it's utilisation.....he simply shoots up unwilling victims and then sucks out their resulting endorphins enriched cranial fluids which he intends to sell back home (where ever that may be)!!!

Hardly impressed with this, Dolph decides to investigate this grisly case but finds himself constantly undermined by a number of shady factions entering the fray.

Matters eventually come to a head when our two mighty leads battle it out in a factory setting (a popular location for action film finales) and Dolph gets to fire off the obligatory final quip before sending his alien nemesis into oblivion.

OK, despite the intriguing premise this is utterly ridden with clichés - the new cop partner, troubles with the girlfriend etc etc etc.. However.....the film works despite it's flaws and proves to serve as a fun ninety or so minutes.

At the end of the day, what more could you ask for? Check it out.

Dumb but okay of its type.

A detective is puzzled by an incredibly productive killer on the loose. Despite a relatively standard cop-whose-life's-shot-to-hell plot, Dolph Lundgren brings quite a bit of fun to the proceedings.

Daft B-movie sci-fi about an alien who goes round killing people with CDs. Probably Celine Dion then.

One of the CRAZIEST alien assassins ever to be designed has come to Earth to attempt to take out the human race. A silly action packed movie from the 90's that pits Dolph Lundgren as an over the edge police detective chasing after this alien assassin that uses a disc that is magn... read moreetically charged to fly and slice and dice it's victims...

Fairly entertaining and convincing cop scifi film. Performances, action and effects are very acceptable. One of Mr Lundgren's better movies.

My father recommended this movie and I was a LITTLE apprehensive when I saw that the movie was made in 1990. lol, the synthesizers, big hair and acid-washed jeans took some adjusting to. I've said in many previous reviews that I'm not big on theatrical cop dramas because their te... read morelevised ilk have made such great strides, it takes a lot more than nudity and profanity to sway me towards a cop movie. I was actually entertained.. This movie about an alien drug dealer wreaking havoc on Earth was kind of original. The "bad alien," as he is credited, looks like Raiden from Mortal Kombat though. The best part of this film though, is the camaraderie between Dolph Lundgren's macho, smart-aleck cop and David Ackroyd's less-macho, but equally-smart-aleck G-Man. They were hilarious. Constantly insulting contacts, enemies and getting into it with each other. An enjoyable hour and a half!

Action packed sci-fi flick has two aliens, one good, one bad both arriving in Houston, Texas. The bad alien is here to harvest endorphins from the human brain to take back to his planet. Of course he ends up killing people to extracts what he needs. The good alien is here to stop... read more him. Did I mention that both these aliens are human looking but are huge, like 7 ft tall. The hero of this flick is none other than Dolph Lundgren, who plays rebellious cop Jack Cain, who is busy trying to bring down this murdering, dirty group of yuppie criminals called The White Boys. Along the way Jack is saddled with a federal agent (Brian Benben) and has to deal with his ex-girlfriend (Betsy Brantley) over some romantic issues. A lot of stuff is going on in this movie, not the least is the wall to wall action. The aliens weapons are bad ass, like huge cannons for sidearms, they just rip through buildings, cars, everything. Whoever did the explosions for this film should have won an Oscar. I have never seen so many explosions in one movie going off every 10 minutes. AWESOME! Lundgren is actually pretty good in this role and he has a lot of things to contend with, especially the 7 ft homicidal alien, who end up both disliking each other a lot. I Come In Peace is an overlooked gem from 1990 that is worth a look.

Bad Alien: I come in peace.
Jack Caine: But you go in pieces, asshole.

Baxley has fashioned a moderately entertaining police thriller whose twist comes from the revelation that its major bad guy is a drug dealer from outer space. Full Review

Dolph Lundgren has always been underrated. Yeah, he makes bad movies, but this is one of the better ones.

I Come in Peace actually isn't as bad as it has every right to be, given that it is an extremely derivative sci-fi, buddy-cop picture. Full Review
