The brother of a slain werewolf newscaster joins the battle against a lycanthropic femme fatale in this sequel to 1981's horror/humor update. Shortly after the events of the original The Howling, Ben ... read more read more...White (Reb Brown) attends the funeral of his sister, journalist Karen White (played here by Hana Ludvikova and by Dee Wallace in the original). There, he meets both Jenny Templeton (Annie McEnroe), one of Karen's colleagues, and Stefan Crosscoe (Christopher Lee), a mysterious interloper who claims the slain reporter was a newscaster. Providing videotaped evidence of the transformation -- and turning up to destroy Karen as her undead body rises from the grave -- Crosscoe convinces Ben and Jenny to accompany him to Transylvania to battle Stirba (Sybil Danning), an immortal werewolf queen. Along the way, the do-gooders encounter Mariana (Marsha Hunt), another lusty werewolf babe, and her minion Erle (played by Fearless Vampire Killers veteran Ferdy Mayne). Arriving in the Balkans, Ben and company wander through an ethnic folk festival, unaware that Stirba is off in her castle having sex with other werewolves and plotting their downfall. Eventually, the adventurers do battle with Stirba in an assault that involves disguised dwarves, mutilated priests, supernatural parasites, and surprise revelations. Howling II is variously known as Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf and Stirba the Werewolf Bitch. Director Philippe Mora, who previously helmed The Return of Captain Invincible, would return for Howling III: The Marsupials. ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi

Sequel to The Howling is a poorly conceived sequel in to a classic horror film. Director Phillippe Mora is the first of many directors to make pointless and unnecessary sequels to a great film. Howling II is a stupid, boring film that has nothing going for it. I absolutely hated ... read morethis film, and I thought that the great Christopher Lee was wasted here. He's too good an actor to act in schlock like this. This might have been a good sequel, if the writers of the original and Dante himself would have been involved; unfortunately this film is the first of seven dreadful sequels that should never have been made in the first place. I thought that this film was simply awful, not engaging, entertaining or fun. Horror films should be fun, thrilling and scary. Howling was none of those things. Even Christopher Lee couldn't save this film, and this is one of the weakest films he's ever done. I mean the guy is such a horror icon from all the Hammer horror films he's done in the 50's to the classic Wicker Man, he's got a solid resume of horror films. But The Howling II is not such a film. This is a dreadful film that strips away everything we loved about Joe Dante's classic. A boring, unimpressive sequel to a great film, Howling II is the perfect example of how a studio can create a dud to cash in on the success of a great film. A film not worth watching.

When it comes to God-awful sequels this one is right up there (or down there depending on your perspective) with Chud II. So bad it's NOT even funny.

A horrible sequel to a good werewolf movie. Poor Christopher Lee doesn't get any good lines, and they story sucks, you feel bad for him. I do not recommend this movie, even if you loved the first one.

A ridiculous breast flashing montage, a dwarf?s eyes bursting (and then being picked up and thrown out of a window) and Jimmy Nail getting flattened with a large cardboard box. Sounds like a great film doesn't it!? Well, it?s not. It?s a very very rubbish film!

Certainly more absurd than the previous effort Howling II is a definite camp classic. Christopher Lee plays it straight while Sybil Danning struts about with her breasts out. These may be the source for her Commodore 64 style magic effects but I can't be certain. If you're going ... read moreto be picky then yes the film has a lot of problems, the only truly annoying one for me was the constant playing of just one song. Over and over again. It very loosely follows on from the original, but it's best to just sit back and relax for some werewolf orgies and gruesome death scenes.

The first Howling revived the werewolf genre. This one flushes it down the toliet.

    Loved the music!

My sister made me stand correct, it was great!

    Right, Mush!?

Just as bad as the 1st but in my opinion the better of the 2.Didn't Sybil Danning look like Lady Caca in the final scenes when she was wearing that weird looking black outfit?

Christopher Lee should have turned this movie down, it's horrible, but he does what he can with it. I really liked the first one, and this sequel wasn't anywhere as good, it seems like the filmmakers didn't even try to make this movie as good as the first. The story seems more ... read morefitted for a vampire movie, the style, direction, editing, and acting (except for Lee) are all horrible. The only other thing I liked was the cool song, I don't remember who that song was by, but it was cool. Anyway, if you haven't seen this movie don't bother with it.

This movie had me at Christopher Lee. It's pretty terrible, but it's also entertaining as hell. Random 80s new wave concert sequences including keytar, gratuitous sex and bdsm overtones, random characters in Mad Max get-ups and, you know, lycanthropy. It's such a silly, silly rid... read moree of a movie and just fun all over. Very easy to see how this flick has gotten a cult following.

Must be one of those movies Christopher Lee means when he says he never made any horror pictures, huh?
