A young Spring Break reveler runs a man down on a dark country road, only to find that the man she left for dead is still very much alive, and starving for revenge. Mary Murdock (Laura Breckenridge) w... read more read more...as heading home from a night of hard partying when she hit a big bump on the back roads. Pulling over to investigate, Mary is horrified to discover a man grotesquely affixed to her front bumper. Panicked, she beats him furiously, buries him in the forest, and carries on as if nothing ever happened. But Mary's nightmare is only getting started, because the man she thought she killed has tracked her down, and he's eager to return the favor. It wasn't long ago that Mary was more concerned with covering up the evidence than wondering if she'll live to see another day, but when her victim returns with revenge on the brain, she is quickly drawn into a bloody game of kill or be killed. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Wow, this movie is a wild ride. It starts off very similar to Stuck (which I liked a good bit), but then transforms into a very weird horror movie. I can't say that I loved it, or that I even enjoyed it. But it did keep me extremely interested in how it all would end up.

There a... read morere no sympathetic or likeable characters in Hit and Run. Laura Breckenridge plays a drunk-driving, panicky, selfish bimbo. The man she runs over....well let's say that any sympathy the viewer feels for him will disappear very swiftly.

I like how the horror aspects of this are sort of hidden until the second act. Maybe the fear is all in Mary's head...or maybe her victim has come back as one of the vengeful undead. It's left pretty vague in order to build the suspense and that's definitely a plus for any horror movie. Once the action hits, it hits hard. It's all absurd and implausible, but effective still.

The story was pretty good, it's just that it got just a little too boring and off track at some points.

If this were billed as a comedy, I would give it 4 stars. However, it is billed as a horror/suspense movie so in that regard it was horrible. The ending was the worst, yet funniest part of the film! Only watch this if you want to laugh...

Really weird movie. The main actress was horrible, and the boyfriend wasn't much better. The only one who was decent was the deranged guy that she hit with her car. It wasn't good, but it was different.

Hit and Run follows the story of a college student who after returning home from a night of parting and also being very tired behind the wheel of her jeep loses control of her car when there is a tire in the road she finally returns home just to end up being awaken by a noise com... read moreeing from inside the garage once down there she comes face to face with what she has done she has hit a man with her car and now must figure out what to do about it making alot of bad choices along the way that ultimately seal her fate and the fate of the person she hit. This low budget horror movie has alittle bit of that i know what you did last summer feel but overall is pretty enjoyable for what it was which is why it gets three and a half stars worth checking out but also no need to rush and see it as it is pretty predictable just a fun way to waste sometime.

To tell you the truth, I don't know what to think of this movie. On the one hand it's pretty creepy, nightmarish and well made, but on the other hand its entire weird and ridiculous.

First the characters. They don't do things logically. I know that Mary, the girl who discovers she has almost killed a guy, could panic. In fact she looks so stupid that I cannot care really about what will happen to her. I knew after she stops calling 911, that it will be a disaster. And her friend Rick is unbelievably irritating. Very clever from him scaring his girlfriend when this one is already close to a nervous breakdown.

Now the story. Too predictable and with many absurdities. These can be individual details such as no spade to dig, not only once but twice. And the tool that reappears magically later on. Or crashing the car into a tree, to attract even more attention from the cops! But more importantly, for instance, the strange behaviour of the victim's wife. Why does not she call the police immediately to inform them of the return of her weird and injured husband ? Or things like blood coming out of a phone, leading us to think that the whole story is just a bad dream. As a nightmare you could accept the absence of logic, but this again is never clear.

Acting and directing are average, but not great. I guess it may be difficult with a mediocre script.

"Hit and Run" was very reminiscent of the movie "Stuck"..Stuck being much more clever but Hit and Run being more chilling in that the guy the girl hits with her car becomes very freaky looking and downright terrifying the further into the story you get.
What happens is a semi d... read morerunk girl hits a guy with her car unbeknownst to her on her way home from a bar and he winds up stuck to her bumper in her garage looking like he's half dead blood gurgling from his mouth and just plain TORE UP..
She goes inside to call 911 but hangs up thinking she will get into trouble because she had been drinking so she goes back to the garage to tell him she is going to try and help him and he lunges for her clawing at her still attached to the front bumper.
She panics and whacks him with a golf club.
Next think you know she pulls him off his impalement on the bumper and buries him in a shallow grave.Next her boyfriend gets involved with not so nice consequences and lets just say that the man she hit has a history of mental problems and is to say the least hard to kill.. the 2 play cat and mouse for what makes quite a thrilling and in my opinion pretty scary little horror film .

Haha, this was crazy....and even a little good. Totally draggin for the first hour and then it finally starts getting interesting. See what happens when you mess around and NOT call the cops? Always, always call the cops, never try to hide anything. The guy was crazy and crazy ma... read morekes you not feel anything, lol, so I've been told. But it was ok and if you want senseless entertainment this is perfect.

This Movie Was Kinda Boring Its Was Kinda Fun To Watch But Its Not Something Id Be Super Excited To Watch Everytime.
  • March 28, 2009
This is one of those movies whereas the previews makes the movie seem to be more than what it really is. It's a bit of an up and down movie; it goes back and forth to being interesting to dull all throughout the entire movie.
