Hide and Seek is a predictable and mediocre thriller that not even the good performances by Robert De Niro and Dakota Fanning can salvage. The film had a good idea, but it quickly falls apart, and becomes a tired film that tries too hard to deliver the thrills. For me, a good thr... read more

Unexpected twists and exceptional performances. Creepy and cleverly written. A must see!

i guessed the ending... yeah, when the movie is completely dependent on the ending like this (saw movies) and you predict the ending, it has nothing going for it.

Robert De Niro is such a random actor. This Movie kept me wondering, then the surprise. . But it was a tiny bit strange to see Dakota playing a role of "disturbed" kid.
The House was so cute they lived in.

Such a disaster. While the acting is quite good from Robert De Niro and Dakota Fanning, it is a horrible story and highly predictable. It took interesting ideas from other movies and combined them into one, forgetting that people would recognize them without even thinking.

Good thriller. A widower (Robert De Niro) tries to look after his daughter after the suicide of his wife and her mother. Emily (Dakota Fanning) doesn't make friends but prefers to play hide and seek with her imaginary friend Charlie. Good cast. Dakota plays the weird little girl ... read more

This psychological thriller bases its success on its two main characters and their actors, and DeNiro and Fanning deliver as always. The first half of the film isn't terribly exciting but interesting enough to make the audience hope for a shocking twist or solution. Sadly, the on... read more

Im not a fan of horror movies for the most part - but I was this one. The movie is unpredictable (for the most part) and has you thinking all the way through it. I like it the most, because it COULD happen, unlike the majority of horror movies made.
This is the only horror movi... read more

I think it's just so well made, so well photographed. Full Review
Through its first two-thirds, at least, Hide and Seek does a good enough job of piquing our curiosity that the movie's ultimate dumbness is more than a minor insult. Full Review
It's so absolutely preposterous that it stops the film cold and draws a collective 'Aw c'mon!' from viewers wondering if maybe they should take back some of that ill will that greeted M. Night Shyamal...
The movie's only rewards are a few unintentional laughs, as when the sheriff (Dylan Baker) calls Emily a 'cute kid' after a long stretch in which she's been acting and looking battier than Sunset Boul... Full Review
The camera leers at 10-year-old Fanning to the brink of criminality. Full Review
Hide and Seek really isn't a suspense thriller at all. It's a mystery movie. It's always a mystery when highly talented people commit the time and effort to a film that is so obviously mediocre. Full Review
For the first hour or so it builds inexorably to an excruciating level of dread. It does this so well, we're willing to forgive the small lapses of logic it takes to get us there. Full Review
