If you've done the time, do the crime.
I have seeing better movies with these kinda stories here before. Don't get me wrong this movie is not that bad but seeing that this kind of story was more lame than anything and the simplistic of it makes it really dissapointing. As far as... read more -
December 7, 2011fb1144932598A good, old-fashioned, bank caper. A surprisingly solid performance from Keanu Reeves as the Casper Milktoast, Henry, makes this a very watchable treat. Vera Farmiga once again lights up the screen as his love interest and James Caan is his prison buddy, now accomplice. Even Fish... read more

Despite some good pieces, the movie falls flat. This has to do with the overall lackluster direction and a fairly poor script. It also bares little resemblance to a comedy, being decidedly unfunny.

This movie, I'll have to say, is watchable but still... I think the one who commited the crime was the director Malcolm Venville
making a movie like this! And choosing Keanu Reeves with his two expressions and "care factor 0" for it as a star!?????
Stay away from this movie ... read more -

The idea is not bad but the actors could not feel more detached from the project. The biggest crime committed was not actually making the film but moreso that they actually released it for general consumption.

An overlooked gem, with strong performances from Keanu Reeves and Vera Farmiga. The inerweaving of Checkhov's play with "the crime" is a genius narrative device.

The story seemed to progress slowly at first but overall it was a great plot.

Relaxing at ease, again we see how a very good movie can be made simple with hidden subtle qualities that are not always right upfront. The creators give you a lot more extra signals, they have thought of many little extra's in the background and subtle circumstances that say a l... read more

It's not the best movie ever made but is clever, multi-layered stories within stories and an interesting, often tongue in cheek, look at acting as a process. Caan's comic relief as the wannabe lifer adds some one liners and fun to a film that has an old-fashioned serious classic ... read more

What's needed is someone nervous to play Henry. A Steve Buscemi, for example. Reeves maintains a sort of Zen detachment. Full Review
A felony of a movie ... tedious and improbable... Full Review
If "Henry's Crime'' is occasionally too pleased with itself, it's also pleasantly unpredictable, and it has a trio of sweet hambone performances at its center. Full Review
The film's ungainly mix of heist, romance and backstage comedy never jells. Full Review
"Henry's Crime" is a movie that eschews the details and tries to get by on charm, and it does have charm - just not enough to get by. Full Review
Keanu Reeves gives an adroit turn in this pleasantly deadpan caper. Full Review
Reeves seems more laid-back than loser - it's hard to accept him as someone who has let half of his adult life go to waste without minding, or even noticing. Full Review
Though the movie has some engagingly quirky moments, everything falls into place far too easily for much suspense to build, and the romance between the two leads seems as contrived as everything else. Full Review
Its mood is so muffled and point so submerged, it's difficult to see why Mr. Reeves and the rest of the cast pooled their talents to make a movie about a nowhere man going no place in particular in Bu... Full Review
