one of the best movies ever.
  • May 29, 2007
Definitely on my 'Worst Movies Ever' list. I disliked every minute of this film and I understand it's a cult classic to most, but I found it incredibly boring.

top 5 favorite movies- DISTURBING, brutal, absolutely terrifying amazing

The special features say this was shot with a $100,000 budget. It is an intense movie with some scary thoughts running through it. Worth wathcing. And it shouldn't have an R rating- MA would have done it fine

I like this movie; I think it's well-made, and sufficiently creepy, but it lacks something... I just can't put my finger on what. Watching it last night, I figure it has to do with so much fictionalising. I don't know. Still, it's effective.

Utterly sickening, yet hard to look away. Brave film making.
  • May 20, 2007
    Raw, evil and terrifying.

A day in the life of a serial killer. Disturbing because it was so matter-of-fact. No hockey masks or chain saws or deformed features. Just a guy who killed people. Based of the life of Henry Lee Lucas, who claimed to have killed hundreds, then recanted. A very well-done film.

One of the best serial killer movies ever made. Scared the hell out of me.

Ouch! This movie is f***ing TERRIBLE, AWFUL, I think I will never see it again. During the first 10 minutes you see at least 5 bodies cruelly murdered in every way possible. And you see the killings, struggles with much blood, and hear the necks cracking. That is too much for me.... read more Don't watch it while eating... HORROR!

If I remember correctly, having read quite a bit on Henry Lee Lucas, this movie really tamed him down. The acting was good but it was the script that really did lend much of the killer's actuality to you.
  • April 15, 2007
This movie was not bad in fact it was pretty instering. I did think that it could have been better though. I really wished they would have actually showed him killion some of the victims insted of just showing the aftermath with a voiceover.
  • April 10, 2007
Based on the real life exploits of Henry Lee Lucas & his recorded "confessions". A truly disturbing movie.
  • April 10, 2007
disturbing beyond disturbing. they don't make movies like this anymore

Michael Rooker is one of the creepiest looking guys in the world, and this movie doesn't help...unsettling film that really hits hard. Rookers performance is truly unflinching as he portrays this emotionless, unsympathetic man with a desire to kill. Something intriguing though is... read more how at certain points you will actually find yourself in Henry's corner... for he isn't the only fiendish character in this bleak story...

One of the Scariest Movies of all time!
  • March 15, 2007
An actual scary movie, that's also a very dark comedy.
  • March 2, 2007
this was okay, a bit sick.
  • February 28, 2007
It doesn't do a whole lot for accuracy, but if you enjoy horror that's real this film will give you a "run" for your money. . . litterally.
  • February 27, 2007
A seedy and disturbing film that does exactly what is says on the tin. Nowhere near as sensationalist as you might expect, Rooker's character is a study of a man with no moral concept of what he does because of his total inability to deal with intimacy and the emotions it provoke... read mores. Never has a simple shot of something so innocent looking as a suitcase seemed so loaded and downright frightening.

A stark film, that takes a bleak look at the life of a serial killer in a not so in your face kinda way, and yet it's still very disturbing to witness.
  • January 31, 2007
the ultimate serialkillerflick. No gloss, no filler, no escape.Michael Rooker is excellent. Stays with you for years after.

    I LOVE SERIAL KILLERS!!!!
  • January 25, 2007
Raw, powerful, disturbing! Michael Rooker's performance is startling, he becomes Henry! He is brilliant in this!
  • January 25, 2007
Rooker offers a convincing portrayal of real life serial-killer, Henry. It appeared to present a very authentic journey into the mind of sombody who lives to kill.
  • January 18, 2007
A totally emotionless portrayal of Henry Lee Lucas, thata doesn't attempt to moralise, justify or condemn the subject matter in any way. Brilliantly acted, you end up feeling numb as Henry just goes about his way, doing what he does. Also faintly amusing in parts. But maybe th... read moreat's just my sick sense of humour.

  • January 14, 2007
Michael Rooker is defenitly a creepy guy in the movie but so is otis with his camcorder. The movie is indeed a bit brutally but not very scary. its a good movie for when you are bored or something but i wouldn't watch it for the second time..
  • January 13, 2007
    Way fucked up. Way good.
  • December 24, 2006
Probably the only serial killer movie I will give 5 stars too. I love horror movies, just not to much reality. It really sucks when it really happened.
  • December 4, 2006
Eww! This sounds a little morbid.
  • November 26, 2006
Ooo this looks quite interesting, i quite like to see this film!
  • November 20, 2006
Was a lot better when I originally saw in college, and originally carried an X rating for brutality. With movies like Saw out now, it seems a little tame now...

    borin more than anything
  • November 7, 2006
I heard nothing but good things about this movie, and wow was it overrated. It has some interesting moments, but for the most part, it's just bad. The movie feels like huge chunks are just missing. Worst of all is the way the story just dead ends. I didn't find the main chara... read morecter to be all that interesting, nor did I find the atmosphere to be as chilling and creepy as others did. The music in the very beginning wasn't bad, but unfortunately that was the most unsettling aspect of the whole film.
