Obviously by the sixth entry of a franchise, scriptwriters seem to be scratching at the bottom of the barrel. This is the case with the sixth entry of the Hellraiser Franchise. Hellseeker is a wasted opportunity and feels like a made for TV film. People say this is worth watching... read more because it brings back Kristy, the main character from the first three Hellraiser films back into the fold. The problem is, she's only back, but briefly. She plays an important role in this film, and the story does focus on her character, but if she's so important to the overall storyline, why is she on screen for less than 10 minutes? What a waste. The acting is pretty bad, even by direct to video standards, and the dialogue seems fake, and the interaction between the characters doesn't feel right. Also a thing that bothered me, was the virtual absence of the Cenobites, Pinhead shows up 35 minutes in and has barely enough screen time. Hellseeker is a terrible sequel, and is a waste of celluloid. Everything about this film is bad, not even Doug Bradley or Ashley Laurence where able to save this dreadful film. Clive Barker should have put his foot down, because this film is a mockery of Clive Barker's original masterwork. What makes this more insulting is that on the back of the DVD, it says that this film is far better than the original, yeah right.

One of the better movies in the Hellraiser Series, Out of the other 5 only the 1st one is better then this. Only one we see in this one is Pin Head and he makes few appearances, but the story is pretty good, more of a murder mystery with a huge twist at the end. Some pretty good ... read morenudity at times from a distance. Nothing really over the edge or scary, but its worth 4 Stars

It's a shame to see this sequel being slated for being different. Hellseeker moves away from being another low budget, direct-to-video Hellraiser installment and instead provides an original spin on a dying franchise.

This sequel doesn't need cheap gore effects to create a good ... read moreHorror atmosphere, it also shows Pinhead doesn't need to physically harm his victims to make them suffer, at least not straight away ;) this makes Pinhead a more calculated character, watching him toy with his victims emotions!

This is pretty much the same plot basis as Inferno, but now Dean Winters (who I'll always remember for his role on OZ) is in the lead seat. It's an okay film and it does have some admirable moments where the crew is really trying, but it nevers works. I was never scared, and this... read more entry more than any other makes me believe that Dimension has just got twenty or so Cenobite full scale models and they just slap a few of em in some doorways anytime they want to make another Hellraiser because they don't hardly move and they don't serve any purpose. As usual, Pinhead gets the coolest visual treament and there's a nice shot of him in a three way mirror, but that's where this movie's ingenuity ends. The plot is a typical back-on-itself amnesia based thriller, and it's just a messy mess. Hellraiser fans won't like it, and modern horror fans get less scare and gore than needed. Thriller fans will just feel outright patronized and annoyed.

Another in the Hellraiser series where they take us through one character's personal Hell. This one was very enjoyable, with a nice appearance by Ashley Laurence (the main girl "Kirsty" from the first Hellraiser film.) But she's apparently dead, and her husband goes through one n... read moreightmarish situation after another, with weird and awful things happening to him. The plot twists around so you never know what's really real until it's all over; I like those sort of movies. Expect to see a puzzle-cube (aka "Lament Configuration") and some Cenobytes (Hellraiser demons) before it's all over.

Not the worst of the bad lot, but nothing particularly special about it, either. The JACOB'S LADDER influences are pretty much everywhere.

It's a terrible film, but a decent Hellraiser film - if that makes sense.

Followed the style of "Inferno", also having a tortured character as the main protagonist. Many twists and turns, and Pinhead is, as expected, back to collect more souls. Unlike "Inferno", "Hellseeker" have some boring sequences, and also quite forgettable. But Ashley Laurence's ... read morereprisal of her character Kirsty Cotton earned a star in my 3-star rating...

a pleasant surprise after watching part 5...gave hope to the impending part 6...big question is will they stop before they ruin the past
  • October 22, 2010
A return of Kirsty Cotton in a movie that, inevitably, is one big clone of Carnival of Souls. There's some very cool visuals to be had with some of the deadworld sequences, but ultimately this movie is pretty disappointing.

Calling this a Pinhead flick is like calling The Muppet Movie a Steve Martin vehicle. The end credits of Hellseeker have more screen time than does the prickly villain. Full Review

In the last analysis, Hellraiser: Hellseeker plays like a made-for-television movie.
