This instalment in the Hellraiser series is a very poor attempt to deliver effective horror. The film contains all the ingredients of your typical horror film. Hellworld is a pathetic attempt at keeping the series going, and unfortunately this isn't the last sequel in the series.... read more

I've got to say i wasn't too impressed with this to be honest. I love the original hellraisers and i just keep hoping that they make at least 1 more decent sequel but thats looking unlikely.
Having said that i've seen worse films but its seems to have gone down the the tradition... read more -

A movie filled with debauchery and uninteresting sex... loads of it, with bucket fulls of fake blood and cheesy has-been horror scenes....

8-17-08: So far, this is the only movie of the Hellraiser series that I've permanently deleted from my drive after watching the whole series in order.
______
The main thing that needs to be said about this movie: don't see it. In this one, Lance Henriksen owns and runs the larges... read more -

Part 8 (Hellworld) was like a Nightmare on Elm Street movie. A group of kids won a contest and were invited to a party at a haunted castle by Lance Henrickson.
There's great spooky scenes and imagery. It doesn't require Pinhead to complete the story. -

The weakest film of the series, and also marked the first time where a bunch of disposable teenagers are the main characters, which is a very bad thing, a "Hellraiser" film finally succumbing into slasher film stereotypes. Even Pinhead is using butcher knives in this one, and the... read more

"Like a bad horror movie, isn't it?"
Yes, yes, its Hellraiser 8. I cant believe they made 8 sequels. It doesnt follow the Hellraiser story line & the Cenobites only make brief appearances, but theres a Hellraiser (Hellworld) internet game, a Hellraiser (Leviathan) House and... read more -

This movie feels like what a shitty Hellraiser sequel should be. Silly and slightly more contemporary with enough blood and gore to shut us up for at least the duration of the film. I enjoyed this movie a lot more just due to Lance Henriksen's performance.
Critic Reviews
There's a lot less story to Hellworld, although it does deliver in the sordid elements you'd want from a horror film - sex, violence and nudity. Full Review
The main characters wander into every room they don't belong in, and following the Hollywood guidebook for the terminally clichéd, they always wander alone. Full Review
Director Rick Bota and screenwriter Carl V. Dupré brought their A game with inventive little twists and shocks all throughout the gory proceedings. Full Review
