Monster mash springs to mind with this sequel hehe its good, plain and simple. With a better story line and more action this Hellboy is a better animal than the first. The film looks really good, its dark, gloomy and goth and at the same time bright, full of imagination and kinda... read more

Considering, I'm not that that big a fan of Hellboy, I thought this sequel was pretty good. I very much preferred this film over the first, and I thought it was much more engaging than the first. I usually have mixed feelings about Ron Perlman, but he was pretty good here. This i... read more

The infernal superhero and his team reunite to stop an elfin prince from reawakening a dormant robotic army to wage war on mankind. One thing that you can take for granted when it comes to films by Del Toro is that it IS going to look absolutely fantastic, and so it does. The won... read more

HellBoy II does improve from the first film, but it's still just a popcorn flick.

Hellboy 2 is a great sequel. Guillermo del Toro did something really cool with his Hellboy movies. With The Golden Army he matches the success of the first and it's equally entertaining and a lot funnier. I love Ron Perlman as Hellboy. It is a role he was born to play. This movie... read more

May 12, 2011fb732260458I swear Ron Perlman was born to play Hellboy. A fantastic comic-book entry by Guillermo del Toro, with spell-binding visuals, a quirky script and memorable characters.

there are many fantastic effects in this film with great acting and characters, not to mention great action sequences to look at my favorite scene being when hellboy fights the giant plant monster.

Hellboy II, though not as keenly conceived or nimbly executed as its predecessor, is still likable entertainment. Full Review
One can't help but wonder whether Del Toro hasn't misjudged the balance between comedy and gravity in this sequel. Full Review
If you didn't know that there's a Troll Market underneath the east tower of the Brooklyn Bridge, you need to brush up on your monstrosities with the help of Guillermo del Toro's hugely inventive -- an... Full Review
Unlike many action filmmakers, del Toro doesn't thrill to the hardware of manmade technology. He prefers the soft, organic textures of flesh, and his trove of imaginary beasties is unmatched in modern... Full Review
The talented fantasy filmmaker and heir to the Lord of the Rings throne gets the tone right throughout Hellboy 2, and the hip retro charm alone is enough to merit recommendation. Full Review
Poetic, funny, darkly romantic and beautifully structured. Full Review
A surprise package of fun, fright and untamed imagination.
The second film is more assured, better paced, and has a stronger emotional component. Full Review
Hellboy II, like its 2004 predecessor, has a middling story line, but it's made memorable by the dark, freaky visions of director Guillermo del Toro. And this time, his imagination runs wilder than ever. Full Review
