Once he has the goods on Trent, Storm phones his partner Kevin O'Malley (Frederick Coffin) to report on his progress. Unfortunately, crooked cops in the same room pick up the extension phone and listen in, thereby dooming Storm. Soon killers show up at Storm's home and blow away Storm's wife Felicia (Bonnie Burroughs) and their young son. Storm himself is also assumed dead, but when he is taken to the hospital, he lapses into a coma. O'Malley spirits him away, and everyone else, for all intents and purposes, thinks Storm has died. Seven years later, under the tutelage of incredibly beautiful nurse Andy Stewart (Kelly LeBrock), Storm rises from his coma and plots his revenge. With the able assistance of Andy, Storm heads off on a killing spree, becoming (as one character describes him), "the most unstoppable sonuvabitch I ever met." ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

It was pretty good...at least it wasn't bad

Yes I know!!! Steven Seagal ? what the hell am I thinking of? Well as I grew up on cheesy Martial Arts films, this happens to one of them, so when I spotted it on TV, I left it on for a nostalgic watch.

What it does show is the changes that have taken place during the time l... read moreapse to recent days in these type of films, in stunts, effects, acting and even physical builds.

What I always remembered about this film was the written quote ?The Anticipation of Death is much worse than Death itself?, but it somehow seemed to feel a little more threatening back then.

My favorite Seagal movie and the first of his that I ever saw, this movie is what made me a Seagal fan in the first place. It's a good blend of action and continuing storyline with a good plot and above-average acting. A good place to start when viewing Seagal films for the first... read more time.

Seagal has some good lines in this one, his best along with Under Siege.
  • March 21, 2007
Seagal wakes from a coma (although it's quite difficult to tell the difference) and sets about butchering the bad guys in his usual lumbering, brainless fashion with the help of nurse Kelly Le Brock who decides to tag along as she liked the look of his willy (this is actually wha... read moret happens...) This tale of shot cop Steven Seagal falling into coma, only to emerge after 7 years aching for revenge is average action film ever made. It's the same old formulaic action-muscle stuff, but sadly not even up to the usual standard.

"You can take that to the bank"

Steven Seagal plays Mason Storm, a police officer who after a 7 year coma returns for revenge against the mobsters who killed his wife and put him in the coma. The fight scenes were great and it is nice to see Seagal in fights where his movies a... read morere fully visible and are fluent.

The movie provides fast and furious nonstop action and it's a must see for all the Seagal fans.

A relic of an era gone by. The music, the cheesy lines, the fighting, the bad acting; these type of films were an institution in the late 80's/ 90's. You can pretty much only judge these based on the action and fights; in this case, not nearly enough of it and poor quality when... read more it happens.
