Adulthood is what you make of it, and no one at the lake house is eager to be the grown-up of the gang. Grown Up's is a cheap, stupid, unorginal comedy that unfolds almost exactly like I predicted it would. Firstly, the movie stars a lot of genuinely funny people, actors who I like to consider the "frat pac... read morek" of movie comedians. These include Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider. However, I dont know how you can put together a lot of hilarious people and not find them anything remotely funny to do. The second half of the movie doesn't even attempt at any humour, even if it's juvenille or trashy like the jokes of the first half. The characters are plain dislikable and although it has it's few moments of inspired comedy, Grown Up's is still pretty bad. The only laugh out loud part of the movie for me was when Steve Buscemi smashes into a wall from a water park zipline. Even that didn't save it.

A very average comedy, nice idea about the 30 year reunion old pals coming back together. However there is very little plot to this film, good assembled cast though. I just would expect more from them overall. I wouldn't mind a log cabin like that for a weekend!

Well i have to say i didnt go in with high expectations of this movie, however it is a silly and highly amusing movie. It did keep chuckling throughout and is a sweet and funny movie. Worth a watch on a rainly sunday evening!

I thought I wouldn't watch this movie but I ended up watching this as one of my friend recommended me to. It came out really funny. Some part was weird and hard to accept but it wasn't that bad.

Adam Sandler wastes his talent in GROWN UPS, a rarely-funny, overly-crude comedy. I can agree that I like the overall message about getting kids outside, but it's just like putting that message in and mixing it with the foul message of objectifying woman. The rest of the ensemb... read morele comedy cast doesn't perform any better than Sandler does himself: there's Kevin James and Chris Rock to add on. Kevin James' humor didn't surprise me all that much: he rarely gets a laugh out my lungs, anyhow. Chris Rock's only good work is EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, which he created; this movie was just like his own stand-up comedy: dull and mostly pointless. I wouldn't recommend watching GROWN UPS. It should be called "The Worst of Adam Sandler".

This movie is funnier than i thought it would be, but still sloppy and story-less. Just a bunch of comedians sitting around and poking fun at one another. Not much (anything) else to it.

Higgy: I'm sorry, death makes me nervous.

Look at it this way; 'Grown Ups' is the best Adam Sandler comedy I've seen in a while. However, this movie is still pretty bad. While trying to make an 'Expendables' (also a bad movie) of comedic actors, except these actors are quite unf... read moreunny. Sure, they have some charm, but certainly not enough to maintain a solid film. All this basically consists of is vulgarity and fat jokes against Kevin James. For some reason David Spade, who I have ranted about before, was in this, and was a very unlikable character, along with the rest of the cast, who can't seem to maintain a solid tone, which is the same problem with most Happy Madison comedies.

Boys will be boys... some longer than others.

Saw it again! You can't judge this film like you would be judging a oscar caliber movie, there is no possible way this movie could judge as a Titanic or a Up in the Air but what this movie can really do is make laugh and I mean alot!... read more! This movie brings you back to your childhood if you over 30 or close to, I recommended it completely to everyone, it's fun and exciting and you won't be dissapointed trust me! If you wanna laugh and remember your childhood this is IT.

In 1978, five 12-year-olds win a CYO basketball championship. Thirty years later, they gather with their families for their coach's funeral and a weekend at a house on a lake where they used to party. By now, each is a grownup with problems and challenges: Marcus is alone and drinks too much. Rob, with three daughters he rarely sees, is always deeply in love until he turns on his next ex-wife. Eric is overweight and out of work. Kurt is a househusband, henpecked by wife and mother-in-law. Lenny is a successful Hollywood agent married to a fashion designer; their kids take privilege for granted. Can the outdoors help these grownups rediscover connections or is this chaos in the making?

Grown Ups should be called F#ck Ups, because this is one very stupid and f#cked up film. Five friends reunite at their old basketball coaches reunion, and take all their families to an old cabin for a few days. The plot is the worst part, because there is no plot, its almost 2 ... read morehours of retards. The actors suck, their just reading their paycheck the whole time. It had funny moments, but overall the jokes were stupid. One of the worst comedies of the year.

I think I am getting harsher in my ratings in my old age, but I really am getting fed up with crap. Now, I obviously did not rent this expecting something deep or meaningful... I did expect some light entertainment and a laugh.
Adam Sandler can be a bit hit and miss, but he ha... read mores had enough hits (ie Wedding Singer, Punch Drunk Love, 50 first dates, even Cllick...) that I still hold out hope of being entertained when I watch one of his movies. This.. well, I am speechless. Dull, boring, not funny. That horrible child who is still breast feeding age about five - that's not funny, that's gross. The grandmother with the bunion, also not funny. Rod Schneider - beyond not funny. Unconvincing totally and just horrible to watch. The old lady he is married to - totally offensive situation - even though I know better not to be offended by a movie like this, it kind of is. How many times do we have to watch young girls with old men in films (even the young hot teen girl daughter of Rob Schneider's character "with" - not really, but implied - David Spade, and with father aged boyfriend not shown here), and here's a newsflash - that's pretty damn gross, yet somehow okay. But here, we have guy who is not even all that young, and certainly not attractive, with grandma aged woman, and that's made out to be the grossest thing in the world. Nice.
The worst thing about this is that it just drags on forever. The jokes aren't funny and it doesn't have a lot of a plot to it. Decent cast, but just boring.
