I loved this biography movie, and I don't usually like biopics that much. The actors are fantastic, and it's full of all the great songs from Lewis. I highly recommend this movie to both fans of the actors and Jerry Lee Lewis.

OK, but unlike biopics where the actor "tranforms" into the character (Coal Miner's Daughter, Ray), Dennis Quaid didn't BEGIN to convince me that he the "Killer" Jerry Lee Lewis. Yeah, he had the moves and the energy, but the passion for the music was fake. Quaid didn't 'feel" it... read more

Movie about the life of Jerry Lee Lewis from his rise to stardom and his downfall after marrying his 13 year old cousin. He wanted to be bigger than Elvis but his own arrogance and poor judgement stops him in his tracks. Great performances by Dennis Quaid and a young Winona Ryder.

Quaid is almost clownish in his awful impersonation completely ruining the film.

Dennis Quaid's larger than life portrayal of the larger than life Jerry Lee Lewis and the songs are the main appeal of this glossy biopic, which has it has a tendency to "gloss" over some of the more distasteful elements of the man's life.

Some fun in this rousing, stylised look at some of the life of rocker Jerry Lee Lewis. Winona Ryder is particulary good as Lewis' third wife, who happened not only to be his cousin, but also only 13 years old.

Dennis Quaid plays the legendary Jerry Lee Lewis who scandalized the world when he married his 13-year-old cousin Myra (Winona Ryder) and news of his marriage leaked out. The movie is based on how his life (and his wife's life) changed when his music was banned from most radio st... read more

Great bio-pic, couldnt have picked a better actor to portray Jerry Lee, Dennis Quaid was awesome and i still find him to date one of the most underated actors in the business. Great soundtrack
Critic Reviews
Underrated Dennis Quad performance as rocker Jerry Lee Lewis.
Quaid is surprisingly good and has plenty of fun in this musical biopic.
Average biopic.
Dennis Quaid actually manages to make Jerry Lee Lewis likeable.
Vastly entertaining biopic.
Quaid nails it. Just nails it.
Ryder and Quaid seem to be in two different movies, but Baldwin is brilliant.
An outrageous bio-pic with Quaid over the top as Jerry Lee Lewis
Not a total success, but it does have a sense of style
