International action star Jackie Chan shifts gears in Bolei Cheun, in which martial arts are put on the back burner and romantic comedy is in the forefront. The note reads, "Do you know I'm waiting for you?" and is signed "Albert," with an address in Hong Kong attached. Bu, convinced this is her destiny, flies to Hong Kong to meet the mysterious Albert, only to find he's a gay cosmetologist (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) who intended for the note to be found by his ex-boyfriend. But Albert is understanding and lets Bu stay at his apartment. Albert lets Bu tag along for a photo shoot he's working and she meets multi-millionaire C.N. Chan (Jackie Chan) when she helps him ward off a gang of toughs hired by L. W. Lo (Emil Chow), who became Chan's enemy in their schooldays and is still out to make his life miserable. Chan is single and a bit lonely, and quickly finds himself attracted to Bu. Bu discovers she likes Chan as well, but things become sticky when her boyfriend flies in from Taiwan to find out what she's done -- and Lo sends an American martial arts champion out to kidnap Chan's new love. While Bolei Cheun does feature a few sequences displaying Jackie Chan's unique fighting style and acrobatic dexterity, the emphasis is on the story and characters rather than the action, with Chan in a rare romantic lead, Leung cast against type and Shu Qi dominating most of the film's first act. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

With several fight scenes - the two with the agile Allan are mini-classics and Jackie's one with baseball bats is highly inventive.

The other side of Jackie - a romantic dramatic side - but alright - the fight scenes with the kick boxer is really GOOD! (the guy is actually one of Jackies stuntmen)

This is a Jackie Chan movie with a difference, it is also a romantic film. The same Jackie Chan trademarks are exhibited, the action scenes and the humour, but the romantic angle is fuller than in his other films. The characters are well chosen and believable. The a... read morection scenes are up to Jackie Chan's usual standard with plenty of humour mixed in. The movie as a whole is excellent.

Great action. Qi Shu steals your heart. Cameos from all kinds of Hong Kong stars including Stephen Chow. What more do you want out of an action movie?

4 of 5 stars for this romantic comedy movie. I am a huge fan of Jackie Chan. This movie is a bit different than his other movies; the focuses on the romantic and comedy elements and downplays the trade-mark Jackie Chan fights.

A village girl named "Bu" meets and falls in love ... read morewith business executive CN Chan (Jackie Chan). The movie is about how Bu tries to capture CN's heart. Qi Shu played Bu and was wonderfully cute; how could you not fall in love with her! The dinner scene with Bu wearing a long blue dress was fun! Well, throw-in a mob-boss, some dumb henchmen and a few Jackie Chan fights and you have the movie. Specially entertaining was a fight scene with 4 silver aluminum baseball bats.

Filmed in Hong Kong and English dubbed audio. The voices were pretty good; though knowing Jackie's voice so well, it is hard to hear some other voice from his mouth. The dubbing isn't such a problem.

A truly fun, funny and entertaining movie.

Jackie Chan doing some full contact fighting with his pupil Bradley James Allan. In two seperate scenes. It needs to be watched just for that. Check out the different levels of gloves they switch to and the foot work.

Gorgeous is a pretty good movie with a fabulous Jackie Chan who himself is utterly gorgeous and cute! He plays such a rich guy who can really kick butt! Daniel Wu's part is minor whereas he plays the bad guy's no good bodyguard, clumsy and silly. This film is enjoyable to watch.

This is really different for Jackie Chan, it's a romantic comedy. I did enjoy it though even though I hate romantic comedies for the most part. It was funny and had great action when there was action. Very good, I would highly suggest seeing this.

a suprisingly good movie...i thought jackie chan in this love story would kind of sell out to all of his kung fu fans, but instead he busted out a kung fu-boxing style of fighting. i absoletly loved the fight scenes in which he boxed his opponents which showed a differetn style o... read moref fighting jackie could easily handle..of course it had a little kung fu in it though. i was sort of disappointed with the fact that it was indeed more of a love story than an action film and that jackie didnt really bring his comedy attutide but displayed more of a sensitive, hard to understand, dramatic character..an odd change for him, but it worked.

Lots of slapstick and not a lot of plot. Full Review

A few good fight scenes save this from total hell. The romance just doesn't work. It's not cute or funny. Check out Miracles for the real deal. This is barely watchable.
