Working on miniature black holes is the newest weapon to tackle the Godzilla problem. The film follows the antics of G Grasper. Realizing Godzilla is attracted to nuclear and plasma power, all such power is now absent from Japan, but as he returns, a small egg comes through one o... read moref the test black holes. It soon hatches into a big assed flying mosquito. This has parallel universes, spaceships, alien bugs, human drama, and lots of destruction. There's even more obvious CGI for the swimming scenes, but it's nice to see the tradition of Godzilla is celebrated rather than parodied. A satisfactory entry.

This movie's one of those rare occasions where every aspect of the film is given an equal pace and even has a strong and interesting female lead. But it's undermined by a needlessly complex story.

Another fun entry in the Godzilla series. Megaguirus, despite being a flawed monster in terms of SFX, is still pretty cool and very nasty. Loved the bit with the dragonflies and Godzilla is great as always.

Big points off for the scene when you see the strings when monsters fly.Would've been at least 4 stars. It's Japan w/ all that technology-why can't they hide the strings?!!?

Quite possibly the first Godzilla film I've seen in its entirety (aside from the American version that everyone hates), and what can I say?

It was on cable, had bad effects and dubbing, the wife and I were fairly amused by it.

A good call for rental or cable.

Actually one of the best Godzilla movies I've seen! :) The special effects that the synopsis dubs as 'dodgy' weren't nearly as bad as the clearly visible strings hoisting Megaguirus aloft. But there are more than enough good effects in the movie to make up for the bad ones.
... read moreBut the production teams are usually good about (at least attempting to) covering up plot holes, but this one had a big one. The first Dimension Tide opened up a wormhole, but the second and third ones did not.
Also a young boy can easily slip through the woods and onto a high-security research facility unchallenged by any type of barrier? Hmmm...
Anyway, it was a great movie and lots of fun! :)

THis was my personal favorite of the last Godzilla series. I also felt it had the strongest script overall; heads and tails over any other entry in the series

Although disliked by many, it's one of those rare occasions where every aspect of the film is given an equal pace and even has a strong and interesting female lead.

Same thing... Godzilkla comes to party up in Tokyo... Japanese people freak out... try to kill him... Big alien appears... rejected superlizard doesn't like another monster trying to claim his turf... if he can't enjoy the nihtlife in Tokyo... no monster will. So there's the obl... read moreigatory awesome monster smackdown.

Hi-end low tech special effects and an exotic battle dance between the Big Guy and Megaguirus are the high points of this "just another Godzilla" flick.
