Director/cinematographer Doug Liman's third feature links together three edgy stories, all beginning in the same Los Angeles supermarket with an interconnected group of characters. Ronna (Sarah Polley... read more read more...) is a down-on-her-luck checkout girl who is sweet talked into taking an extra shift from her friend Simon (Desmond Askew) so he can go to Las Vegas. Ronna is then approached by two good-looking actors, Adam (Scott Wolf) and Zack (Jay Mohr), who want to buy drugs. Ronna, who needs money, plans to act as a go-between between the actors and a dealer friend of Simon's, Todd (Timothy Olyphant), until a cop named Burke (William Fichtner) enters the picture. Meanwhile, Simon is living it up in Vegas; in the course of a very wild night on the town, he manages to bed two women, accidentally steal a car with his good friend Marcus (Taye Diggs), and get thrown out of the best strip club in town, with more than a few people after him, especially when he leaves behind a credit card he borrowed from Todd. Once again back at the supermarket, Adam and Zack turn out to not be quite what they seemed, and their relationship with Burke and his wife Irene (Jane Krakowski) takes an unexpected turn as their evening becomes very, very complicated. Go, Liman's long-awaited follow-up to his indie hit Swingers, received its World Premiere at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Three interconnected stories, comic misadventures if you will, told in lively fashion. I liked it.

A fun but eventually tiring thriller/comedy concerning a drug deal gone bad and the individuals who get tied up in the mess. This movie wants to give polite tips of the hat to classics like "Rashomon", "Pulp Fiction", and "Run Lola Run", but eventually you get the sense that it i... read mores being so derivative to the point of being unoriginal. It does have a cool late 90's vibe to it and the acting is uniformly terrific (William Fichtner comes in out of nowhere and steals the show), but after the scene shifts from Vegas to the two gay actors, it kind of comes to a grinding halt. Still possibly worth a view, but if you want the ultimate messed-up crime comedy tying in assorted people, stick with "Pulp Fiction".

There are some colossally stupid characters running around "Go" and it makes for an extremely fun movie. The three interweaving stories are each funny, thrilling and engrossing. The film is memorably shot and directed by Doug Liman (who has yet to top this film). The cast is grea... read moret all around with Sarah Polley, Desmond Askew, Katie Holmes, Jay Mohr and Scott Wolfe all turning in memorable work. "Go" is one of my favorite pop art films from the late 90s and a truly original film.

A very recognizable cast in a little known film. This is a black comedy telling the events of a few people whose paths crossover the course of a chaotic weekend for all. Has some quite funny moments and is well done from 3 main points of view. Worth checking out if you liked 11:1... read more4 also worth seeing!

Great movie with a great plot. The interconnecting stories worked really well and most of the characters are pretty unique and interesting. What I enjoyed about it most was the nonchalant attitude, it wasn't trying to be some giant end all, say all of movies. It's also a lot more... read more fun than say Pulp Fiction because it doesn't keep grilling you with extremely long pop culture references.

Go is Liman's frantic and fractured 3 stories in one tale of a simple drug tale, turning into comedic farce. It's a fast and furious watch, never letting you relax. It's essentially 3 short films. Of course, they interlink, characters cross over and questions are answered as we s... read moreee the same events from different angles. The comedy is also of top-notch quality. Fichtner gives a wonderful performance as a slightly "off" cop, and the big reveal of his ulterior motive is a moment of classic comedy genius. It's pacing keeps the movie bright and interesting.

Love/hate this movie. It?s got its great moments and it?s got is awful moments too.

Slick, cool and cleverly directed! It sure wasn't easy getting a hold of, but now that I've seen it, I can gladly say this movie was worth the effort. The key to what makes it a good watch lies not within the plot per se, but the well-written characters and dialogue. It's enterta... read moreining in a way that black comedies seldom are. The only thing that made me scratch my head is how the director who made this and Swingers (a movie I like even more than this one), could also make something as craptastic and worthless as Jumper. I guess it's just one of those Hollywood mysteries that I'll never find a good answer to.

In the wake of Pulp Fiction, many films tried to imitate the style of multiple intertwining storylines, to various degrees of success. Personally, I think this one fared best.

Singh: Just so we're clear, you stole a car, shot a bouncer, and had sex with two women?

A little seen, ecstacy adventure/dark comedy. Plays like a twentysomethings version of Pulp Fiction. 3 stories each with a different flavor and different characters taking place within the ... read moresame time span of 12 hours or so, followed by a wrap up of all the threads.

The first story is about Ronna, played by Sarah Polley. She goes through an ordeal involving drug deals in order to pay her rent and make it through Christmas. Things of course don't go as planned when conflict arises in the form of a shady dealer played by Timothy Olyphant.

The second story involves Simon, his friends, which include Taye Diggs and Breckyn Meyer, and their misadventures in Vegas. It is very much an exaggerated story involving sex, drugs, gunplay, and car chases.

The third story involves two actors, Jay Mohr and Scott Wolf, who were busted for possession and must now be a part of a sting to get themselves off the hook. Their story turns into a dark and strange sitcom of sorts, especially with scenes involving a law enforcer played creepily by William Fichtner.

This movie is a lot of fun. It is paced extremely well, with almost no moments of deadness.

Being about drugs for the most part, director Doug Liman has given the film almost the perspective of being in the midst of an ecstasy trip throughout.

Very enjoyable with some crisp editing, fun actors, and a hip soundtrack.
