Awesome movie. James played the role of a raciest to the tea, Going back and bringing the truth out yrs later was justice and it portrayed it so well. Kinda scary since this is the way it was not too long ago in our history in America.

Important movie well played. In some ways life has changed since then. For too many this is something for the history channel. Perhaps society would be better served by showing the history channel in theatrers and charging everyone $15.00 to see it.
Critic Reviews
Strangely devoid of any emotional weight. Full Review
Well intended film with James Woods Oscar worthy in a key role.
Strong performances but just another movie about civil rights issues that pays too much attention to the white characters.
Reiner's intermittingly preachy but nevertheless powerful and poignant portrait of hostility and racial strife during one of the ugliest chapters in contemporary American history
Convincingly plumbs the spiritual impules behind the yearning for justice. Full Review
