Out of all the material he's done throughout his life, I find myself referencing bits from this performance the most... Probably because it's the most recent one, but also because I relate to most of its material.

"Rights aren't Rights if someone can take 'em away... They're pr... read moreivileges. That's all we've ever had in this country is a bill of temporary privileges. And if you read the news even badly, you'd know that every year the list gets shorter and shorter and shorter."

Carlin's analysis of today's parents, the self-esteem movement, and the special child is so right on. Not only does he nail it, he provides humor with it.

This is a much better tack than his political stuff. What I wonder though is that he addresses the families of the upper... read more-middle class. It would have been great to have heard his take on the families from poor backgrounds. He always seemed to champion them.

But Carlin drifted into politics and religion. That he died a few months after this was recorded, I wonder . . . is he looking up at us smiling? ;)

this is okay as it IS george carlin, however this is the one and only time he truly looks old, stodgy, and comparatively unenergized. in the video he looks significantly older than even on the cover/poster. the most funny parts were not the social critiques, which were unusually ... read moreblunt and tactless, but the more silly than funny stories he worked into his gags. had mr. carlin lived longer, this would have been seen as "the beginning of his downturn due to aging."

Ofcourse George Carlin is funny but really don't realise how smart he is until you hear him do some stand up.

Typical George with lots of laughs and profanity but I think takes himself way too seriously, seriously! Although funny, some of his stuff simply makes no logical sense.

I was sorry to hear of his death in June 2008 from a long struggle with heart problems. He did have a knack a... read morebout speaking up against the stupidity of people and their belief systems.

In this installment he comes across as another confused Catholic, contantly torn between the good people who attempted to teach him the "true" religion while hating the church's hypocracy. Catholics who say they are not "tied" to the church's belief system are the worst cases of people who *are* really tied to it to the point of it ruining their lives and stiffling their productivity. I am sorry to see that he could never get beyond that and his wanting to make his mom proud of him despite her strict Catholic beliefs.

We will miss him but this installment simply did not do it for me.
