It's been two long years since Edward Elric's bold sacrifice found him thrust into the unfamiliar Earth realm, and as he continues to research rocketry in Munich alongside fellow researcher Alphons Heiderich -- a scientist who strangely resembles Ed's long-lost brother Al -- the slow progress leaves the discouraged Ed wondering if he'll ever see his brother again. But you never know what the future holds, and when Ed saves a psychic Gypsy girl, he quickly finds himself immersed in a plot by the mysterious Thule Society and the rising Nazi Party that threatens to thrust both Earth and his home planet into a horrible war. Little does Ed know that back on his home planet, his brother Al has been conducting a series of experiments in alchemy and mastering incredible powers in hopes of locating his desperate sibling. Though the combined forces of alchemy and science may indeed yield enough power to bring the brothers back together, the chaos that could follow threatens to cause more bloodshed than either Ed or Al ever imagined. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A FANTASTIC way to finish off the series!

The movie continues from the last episode of the series and fills in the gap where we thought it suddenly ended.

This movie can be watched by anyone but,.. I do strongly recommend that you check out the series first befor... read moree you watch this to get a proper understanding of what's going on in the movie.

'The Fullmetal Alchemist' is no doubt one of my favorite Anime series.

A good continuation/conclusion of the FullMetal Alchemist saga, following up on the events that took place after the series ended. The animation and music was great as always and the story was quite good as well, especially as it smoothly tied up many loose ends. Altough I haven'... read moret seen all that many anime flicks in my life, this one is surely one of the best and most memorable.

Incredible Manga anime film of the brothers Elric runite after 2 years from the following final episode of Fullmetal Alchemist series. Great magical, action and some funny like the old times of the brothers Elric and lots of surprise cameo characters from the series appear... read more in this film.

Not as action packed as The Star of Milos but the story definitely flowed more smoothly. Since this one takes place right after FMA: OVA the story starting off mid-way felt more natural as opposed to Milos where you were wondering where it was continuing from. I loved finally bei... read moreng able to see the conclusion of the original FMA complete with all the drama and darkness that was in the series.

Unfortunately this film tries to cater for everyone: film lovers (Fritz Lang), anime enthusiasts and newcomers, as well as lovers of the series, and ends up spreading itself too thinly. It's good to see Hughes back, albeit briefly, I like the twists, the period setting, being imm... read moreersed in the alchemist world again, the doubles and it's a brave ending and everything, but... it simply doesn't capture what was great about the series. For completists only.

I am a huge fan of the television show. I think the characters are great, the story is wonderful, and the animation put into it is rich and colorful. This movie is very sad like the show and it picks up a few years after the very las t episode. I really think that Fullmetal Alche... read moremist is a great cinematic acheivement and I think that the show is such a dark abd dramatic show that is diffrent from any other anime show. I really think FUllmetal is exciting with stunning action and visuals, and with a strong dramatic story that will make you cry thinking back in the series. But just remember, the only way to understand this movie, you MUST watch the entire show. I really think that is the only issue is that you have to have watched the show in order to understand what is occuring. I made that mistake. But I think that this was a reat way to complete that show with a happier feel than the show finished off.

Sadly this film holds little merit if you haven't been following the animated series for its full run. A great movie if you have, but as movies must be able to stand alone...

The biggest disappointment I faced in watching this movie was the ending. It is still worth watching if you enjoyed the series. I wouldn't suggest seeing it if you haven't seen the entire (or at least most+ the ending) series.

I love Fullmetal. Edward is a very sexy beast if I do say so myself. Yes I still have crushes on cartoon characters. Deal with it
