Starts well, then it gets mushy and melodramatic as it progress until the stupidity of certain situations and characters sinks the whole thing.
Very solid direction mind you, Edison Chen sort of gets into the character, but Sam Lee is the obvious scene stealer here. The guy do... read more

very gritty hk melodrama that goes way over the top by films end. Viloent and gory at times, but competent acting and basically holds your interest till the end. Brutal and searing tale, not for everyone!

Brutal film about dehumanization. Many actions scenes, but somehow manages not to glorify violence, showing it instead as repelling. Action fans may dislike the film for this reason, but its dark realism certainly makes it stand out.

Good Cat III film with great performances from the leads. There are some questionable scenes and character moments, but as a gritty mano e mano fight to the death film this is great

The movie starts off strong and makes you believe it will live up to the intensity and violence the movie suggests. But a love story thrown in slows the pacing and excitement down. A movie with potential becomes just another average movie.

Bleak and moody, this is a very atmospheric movie that follows a very basic plot of a cop trying to locate a hitman. There are a few sidetracked moments with both the hero and the villian's backstories, but overall the style sells everything quite well.
