To get over the border, they kidnap Jacob Fuller, a widowed preacher played by Harvey Keitel, and his two children, Kate (Juliette Lewis) and Scott (Ernest Liu). Once south of the border, the quintet park their RV at a rough-and-tumble trucker bar called The Titty Twister, where Seth and Richie are supposed to meet a local thug. After a couple of drinks, they realize that they're not in a typical bar, as the entire place begins to teem with vicious, blood-sucking vampires. With the odds stacked greatly against them, the Fullers and Geckos team together in hopes of defeating the creatures of the night. Makeup artist Tom Savini and blaxploitation star Fred Williamson appear as allies against the vampires, and Cheech Marin fills three different roles. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

A pair of ruthless bank robbers on the run to Mexico hijack an ex pastor and his children, only to be trapped in a strip joint full of vampires. The first collaboration between Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, From Dusk Til Dawn is half twisted road movie, half schlock hor... read moreror with a wide streak of humour; Grindhouse beta in other words. It's also the film that made the male population finally understand what the ladies were on about when we collectively developed a huge man crush on Clooney whose fantastic performance as Seth Gecko turned him from soap star into Mr. Coolest Of The Cool. He's ably supported by Quentin as his psychotic and delusional baby brother and Harvey Keitel as the hard-assed preacher, as well as some cameos from Sex Machine from Dawn Of The Dead and Shaft himself. There's plenty of Tarantino's amusing hard-boiled dialogue and the action scenes are splatter at it's most frantic and funny. It may feel a little scizophrenic as it's essentially two stories stitched together, but both work brilliantly and it's a riot from beginning to end. One of my favourite vampire films and worth the admission price for Salma Hayek's jaw dropping burlesque turn alone. Ay carumba.

A ridiculously fun movie that starts out as Tarantino crime film that then quickly turns into a ravenous gore-fest of a vampire movie.

A powerhouse of a film. One of the most cherished B-movies in the past four decades. Tarantino and Rodriguez collaborate and it is spectacular.

I fell in love with this movie as a kid of about nine or ten, before I knew how pretentious Tarantino actually was. A pretty cool and fun movie. Quentin Tarantino isn't a great actor, but he is a lot of fun to watch. His screenplay and George Cloony's acting is what really set this movie apart. Deliriously violent, super-cheesy, and just absolutely preposterous, From Dusk 'Till Dawn is also a pleasantly enjoyable exploitation fare. Although it is a tad disjointed - come on, it combines a bank-heist crime drama with a vampire gore-fest - the movie survives mostly due to ... read moreGeorge Clooney and Quentin Tarantino - and of course, the nude vampire strippers.

On a mindless exploitation level this is pretty good, but on other levels it seems to make promises that it fails to deliver on. Full Review

A tired, humorless pastiche of various exploitation genres that is not the least bit imaginative in its campy deconstruction of conventions.

Mr. Rodriguez demonstrates his talents more clearly than ever -- he's visually inventive, quick-witted and a fabulous editor -- while still hampering himself with sophomoric material. Full Review
