Kate has been having second thoughts about her impending marriage, but that changes when Charlie calls her to say that the engagement is off -- he's met a beautiful French woman named Juliette (Susan Anbeh), and he's fallen in love. Determined to win Charlie back, Kate confronts her fears and hops on board the next flight to Paris, where she finds herself seated next to Luc Teyssier (Kevin Kline), a French thief who stashes some valuable jewelry in her baggage hoping to avoid capture. While Luc simply wants to get his jewels back, he pretends to be willing to help Kate find Charlie and win him back in order to keep her luggage out of harm's way, but to his surprise (as well as Kate's), the two become infatuated as they make their way through the City of Lights. Leading lady Meg Ryan also served as co-producer for this film. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

A cute movie about a fastidious North American (Meg Ryan) and a French ne'er-do-well (Kevin Kline). She flies to Paris to retrieve her fiance and he stashes a stolen necklace in her purse to escape the police. It is all complicated, but is a good movie if you are looking for so... read moremething with a happy ending.

This film is really strange. Kevin Kline is strange.
  • February 9, 2010
It's not as bad as I thought it would be, it's actually quite sweet. Kevin Kline is quite likable even though his French routine is a little questionable but unfortunately Meg Ryan is the most annoying person on the planet and really stopped me from enjoying the film as much as I... read more feel I would have if another actress had been in the lead role.

Beautiful, simply beautiful! Everything about it was entrancing! Superb acting, fantastic scenery. Meg Ryan was astoundingly funny as well as Kevin Kline. Comedic performances were perfect and the romantic side was so sweet.

This is so funny. Plus the ending is great.
  • May 28, 2007
Particularly dumb rom com in which the ubiquitous Meg Ryan pursues her ex to Paris and tries to win him back by teaming up with Kevin Kline who sports the least convincing french accent this side of Clouseau. Junk.
  • November 30, 2006
It might while away an hour or two, but its as shallow as a tinkers bath

    Fantasically hilarious.
