Fool's Gold had the potential of being a good comedy film, but the problem with the film is that it's bloated with overused clichés from previous comedies, thus everything you'd expect that will happen, happens. I thought that the film started off well enough to be a good, fun co... read more

True Love Takes a Dive.
Saw it again on TV! The movie is fun and entertaining, that's all there is too it. It has some action and some romantic comedy which can serve for a nice date movie night for a couple.

Of course there's nothing new or memorable here, but it's a fun romance adventure film.

A decent, fun and enjoyable comedy/action film with a nice tropical setting. Reminded me a lot of Into the blue similar story but with a comedy twist. It has a good cast line up. While not being ground breaking I still found it a fun film to watch.

McConaughey & Kate Hudson showed electrifying chemistry in 'how to lose a guy in 10 days'. Although Fool's Gold did'nt turn out to be as great a fun-ride as the former, it had it's enjoyable moments with typical treasure-hunt-movie thrills and cool landscapes.

It's good to see Kate and Matthew back together in their second rom com. They are a divorced couple who wound up together again to look for lost treasure before the baddies get hold of it. Matthew gets beaten up a lot. It reminds me of 'The Mexican' (hopeless male and exasperated... read more

Watched this plane wreck on a plane - made the trip unbearable. McConaughey and Hudson are tiresome.
Critic Reviews
Not only do we not care about the lost treasure, their characters aren't developed enough for us to give a hoot, so nothing about this story strikes gold. Full Review
It's not a complete power failure, but it's close. Full Review
So intricate, so convoluted and so full of various character names that it becomes impossible to follow. Full Review
The movie winds up as a lot of pretty people sitting around a movie set waiting for a director and writers to strike comic or romantic gold. At least their tans were 24 karat. Full Review
At least costume designer Ngila Dickson didn't have to work too hard on McConaughey's wardrobe. Full Review
Nothing about the movie is memorable, unless you happen to be McConaughey's undoubtedly proud personal trainer. Full Review
There are several dazzlingly pretty but profoundly dumb characters in Fool's Gold, characteristics they share with the film itself. Full Review
Anything can happen -- anything except anything remotely entertaining. Full Review
A semi-adventure and even less of a romantic comedy, only pretends to whip up excitement. Full Review
