Roddy (Jackman) was living the high life when he first met Sid the sewer rat (Shane Richie), but that's all about to change when Sid decides to send the hapless mouse down the pipes and stealthily take his place in the lap of luxury. Though the bustling sewer city of Ratropolis isn't without its fair share of kind citizens, it is certainly no place for a pampered mouse with a taste for life's finer things. Upon making the acquaintance of scavenger rat Rita (Winslet), Roddy is certain that the pair can navigate their way back to the surface in Rita's trusty boat, the Jammy Dodger, but Rita's help doesn't come cheap, and the nefarious Toad (McKellen) is determined to rid Ratropolis of all things rodent. When Toad's hapless hench-rats Spike (Andy Serkis) and Whitey (Bill Nighy) fail to achieve acceptable results, the green meanie is forced to call in the cavalry in the form of legendary French mercenary Le Frog (Reno) to get the job done. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Flushed Away is quite simply among the funniest animated films i've evr seen. Its humour is witty and can entertain adults and children. Although not Chicken Run a previous Aardma effort it certainly will blow you away from the cinema feeling happy and it definetely won't flush y... read moreou away.

FLUSHED AWAY is a dumb, animated British movie. It's not very enjoyable.
  • April 18, 2011
It had a great cast and animation, but sadly after a while the dimness and the movie itself gets boring. It had a interesting idea, and it seemed to work for a while, and it was very funny and made me laugh, but it was weird soon nere the end. I thought it was good, but could'v... read moree been better.

I had worried that a 2D animated Aardman Studios production would be disastrous, especially without any input from Nick Park but luckily it turned out rather well, I really enjoyed it in fact!

I thought the animation was great, the story was great and the humor was actually surprisingly funny! I loved ever bit of this satisfying movie!

While I am not entirely sure why the creators of Wallace and Gromit decided to go from claymation to computer animated film, because they pretty much kept the look of their beloved figures, the result is pretty much the same: a fast, funny adventure film for kids or those young a... read moret heart. Adults might get a kick from spotting the movie references and the fun action sequences, but they may find the plot to be a tad too predictable and full of stereotypes. Kids should have a blast with the funny characters and lovely sets. In the end it's the details that save the film from mediocrity, the singing snails, the newspaper tagline in the end, stuff like that. Enjoyable for what it is.

Here's hoping that Flushed Away won't be the last gurgle from Aardman in feature-film form. Aardman shows us that animated humor, even in the toilet, can still be good clean fun. Full Review

Actually, a lot about the film is certified cool, from its whirly animation to the hordes of crunchy pop songs on the soundtrack. Full Review

Flushed Away subsumes its British charm with an aggressive American pace and more obvious body-function humour, and the film shows evidence of an awkward fit between American and British sensibilities. Full Review

Flushed Away is more fun than a bushel of slugs in a sewer. And considering the slugs in this sewer, that's saying quite a bit.

How this thing got made in Hollywood is a mystery, but I laughed at most of it, especially the mean stereotypes about the French and the even meaner stereotype about England's soccer team.

Flushed Away moves quickly, and will just as quickly depart from memory, leaving the bemused, bubbly sensation of a good time in its wake.

The chatter is as zingy for the adults in the theater as the action is zippy for the kiddies. Full Review
