This mediocre slasher film from director Andrew Davis is worth watching more for its cast than for its cliched story. The film is set in the usual isolated forest, where a ratty-looking killer (who se... read more read more...ems to be covered with Spanish moss) makes survival difficult for some foul-tempered campers. Among the doomed are future luminaries Rachel Ward, Daryl Hannah, and Adrian Zmed. The leaders, played by Joe Pantoliano and Mark Metcalf, are some of the most irritating characters in any 1980s slasher film, bickering until they sound like tenderfoot versions of Barnes and Elias from Platoon. The characters' constant ill temper is designed to add to the tension, but serves only as a distraction. The murders are low-key and dull, save for Metcalf's well-handled death scene, and the obligatory "telling of the legend" is less spooky than obnoxious. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

    The Bad things about this movie is that it is supposed to be a slasher BUT there aren't enough deaths which was a big let down for me and the few death scene are not explicit nor gory though It has a couple of suspenseful moments.

    Final Terror follows the story of a group of rangers into the woods for whats suppose to be a camping trip and work program that ends with them taken a river ride but all doesnt go as planned when the bus driver snaps and leaves early the head ranger and his girlfriend go missing... read more and then dead bodies start turning up the surviors are left to band together and catch or kill whoever is responseable. What i thought was a really good 80's flick in the same vein as the Burning or early Friday the 13th movies low body count is the only thing that hurts this movie but still fun to watch

    This was an all-time fave for me as a kid. It scared the hell out of me!! I love the tin can lid trap at the beginning.

    Nary a drop of blood ,ok maybe a drop or 2 but WEAK kills .Great cast ,I was in love with Adrian Zmed when I was a teenager, him without a shirt on was enough for me to buy it. .Darrel Hannah, Rachel Ward and... read more Joe Pantoliano were virtual unknowns at the time and lend to the credibility of the cast today.
    It reminded me somewhat of the movie "Southern Comfort "because of the boobie traps and atmosphere although Southern Comfort was highly superior , too bad you cant see very much of whats going on in this movie due to the terrible quality and lighting of the disc.
    I own it because I have every movie available that is in the slasher genre.This could have been fantastic if there were BLOOD~!! You could SEE IT~!! and it were given more thought.

    Slow-paced but with both a great opening and a great closing. I'm up for any movie that promises a terror-romp through the woods.
