    Very touching romantic film which is devoid of any real romance. You'll know what I mean if you watch it. At times it borders on melodrama sentimentality which harms the most emotional of scenes. We don't need somebody crying, a haunting voice over AND sad piano music to get the ... read morepoint across. For the majority of the film though, it is a gradual character piece with real heart. Kang-jae is a great down and out gangster who has meaning given to his life by somebody he doesn't even meet. Sad, but never quite confident to let the story speak for itself.

    Funny old film, it seems to be one of those gangster-newly-out-of-jail stories but then sneaks into a romance & redemption plot with a terminal illness shoved in for good measure. And the lead's that bloke from Old Boy.
    Strangely likeable despite the unsubtle soundtrack.
