As it happens, Pope's wife also has a wandering eye, and when she disappears under mysterious circumstances, Pope finds himself investigating the case and discovers that his spouse had fallen in with Elizabeth Kane (Caroline Neron). Kane is a woman with a taste for other women and an unquenchable sexual desire, but as Pope finds himself drawn to her strange allure, he makes a disturbing discovery -- Kane is actually Erzsebet Bathory, a Hungarian countess of the 16th century who many years ago found the secret of eternal life by bathing in the blood of beautiful women. Eternal is the first feature film from the writing and directing team of Wilhelm Liebenberg and Federico Sanchez. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This movie must be Canadian because it keeps reappearing on TV. It is a combo vampire, renegade cop, soft porn and horror film.

Okay. this goes on the list of Worst Films I've Ever Seen. Why did I want t isee this? Because it was supposed to be about Erzbet Bathory. Horrible. Worse than horrible. And what did they guy say? A Polish Family? Hello! Hungarian! Someone didn't do homework. That painti... read moreng was awful, too. And murdering them by pricking them in the neck? And biting? Also, most of these girls were clearly not virgins. What a waste. The only thing on screen was betrayal and lust. Maybe someday, someone will make a REAL film about Erzbet.

You ever rent a movie that you think is going to be one thing and then turns out to be something else? Like, say, you think you're renting a horror film, and about 9 minutes in you realize that it's actually borderline softcore pron? Yeah, me neither. Moving along . . .

Put one tea spoon of nudity, a quarter liter of lesbians, a gram of dumb plot and spice it up with a renegate cop with a 3-days beard. Don't forget to put it some vampires herb in it! How "cliché"! This untasteful meal is a movie called Eternal. My only advice is unless your a pi... read moremple-faced virgin teenager willing to pay 10 bucks to see Caroline Neron's tight rear on the big silver screen, stay away from that disgraceful movie! Really this movie fails to deliver the mystical and captivating story of Erzebeth Bathory. As for vampire fans I can also tell them that they might be totally be wasting their money if they go see this because the truth is that there is very little of vampire stuff in it.

Lets just say that I was pleasantly surprised. Not thanks to the plot unfortunately. It's the typical run of the mill slasher flick/softcore fare with the straight to video vibe. And since I watched it expecting bad... the pretty decent cinematography really caught me off-guard. ... read moreI was pretty amazed at how pretty lots of shots were, leading me to suspect that this indeed was not some tv movie on skinemax. It's was released in theaters! Yet the script, plot and acting (from the lead actor specifically) is horrible. So I guess if you ignore everything and just focus on the images, this movie really isn't too bad. But if you're looking for a good b-rate vampire movie... this probably won't be the best idea.

There's no camp in this vamp; the lady, and the film, is a tramp. Full Review

That the acting is stilted and that the filmmakers and especially Pla take themselves so seriously serves to make Eternal deliriously silly camp fare. Full Review

I wouldn't recommend this for theatrical viewing, but as late night cable fare, it's an acceptable way for an insomniac to pass two hours. Full Review

Perfect for watching on video on a cool Cape Cod night, but maybe not so arousing in an arthouse for 10 bucks and change. Full Review

Quite silly and not especially scary.

It's impossible to overstate the silliness of all this, but it would still be a decent Halloween trick -- if it were Halloween. Full Review

Lush, lurid and completely besotted with itself, Eternal is one of those movies normally found slinking around the ether of late-night cable television. Full Review

Real scares are few, in part because the major characters are unsympathetic. Full Review

Bram Stoker would be, well, horrified.

Tame and cheesy even by the modest standards of the genre, Eternal needs all the intellectual trappings it can find. Full Review
