Out of the 2009 8 Films to Die For Collection, this is a South Korean entry in to the horror field of movies. Its not bad, but the name Voices doesn?t do it justice, it is also called Someone behind You and Du saram-yida, I?m not sure about the Korean name but the Someone Behind... read more you is more of a fitting title. We have a film where it seems everyone wants Jin-seo Yun, dead, and she is brutal attacked over and over by friends, and family, right till the end where her parents are killed and then there is a major twist, not a real horror film, more like a Hitchcock novel. Its worth the 8 Films to Die for Name, and its also worth 4 stars.

Yet another Asian 'curse' movie. This happens to be very interesting as the main idea really propels the story. What if your family tried to kill you? It makes for a creepy horror that soon loses it's way in a complex and increasingly dull mystery. Long pauses in the films narrat... read moreive, taken up with long scenes of exposition, make this hard to get through at times.

A Korean horror movie that starts off on a light note that quickly sours as the gore factor intensifies. A confusing and baffling story, it plays out more as a mystery as irrational, violent behavior spreads and is focused on the lead actress. Not so much a fright fest as a psy... read morechological dillema..as stated by one of the key characters: "searching for answers to questions that don't have an answer is more like a curse". By movie's end you still don't have that answer ..but my best guess is it's about the exploration into madness of one's mind..and the influences of evil. The themes the movie tries to cover are heavy to be sure, and it all plays out in an abstract manner, but the storytelling by the final act is decent, and really leaves you thinking..er...head scratching? A second or even third viewing would probably be of benefit. An interesting and intelligent film...

It wasn't scary, the plot however was intriguing, especially the way everything played out in the end.

It is a bit confusing at what this movie wants to be. The story is can also be confusing, but the story is used as a twist itself. i hope that makes sense. Well acted. Was kind of slow in the middle, but a good couple of gore scenes and the movie really picks up towards the end.
