I wouldn't argue with someone if they where to call this the worst film ever made. The acting is appalling, it's predictable and looks awful. But in my case if you're in the mood for an hour an half of Brainless stupid comedy this may just be the film for you..

Stupid and silly, but I have to say that I laughed out loud...a lot. Soooo, extra credit for that.

The strength is in the makeup and special effects.
The weakness is in the story subtext (and often blatant dialogue) about sexgender and how the zombie apocalypse could possibly serve as a solid ground for dealing with issues of gender performance inadequacy (on part of all of t... read morehe men characters).
Overall, entertaining, but like most zombie flicks, don't go looking for depth.

A so-so horror comedy with a good array of UK acting talent on show. Ok in parts has some funny scenes and quite gory to in places. Overall just not quite as polished as Severance, Shaun of the dead. One mainly for the guys.

Disappointing. Starts off with a premise ripe with possibility for social and gender commentary and comedy... and then fails to do anything with it. In fact, it barely has an ending at all. It's like they just ran out of ideas.

I hate to use descriptions like these, but this film reminded me of a mashup between The Hangover and Shaun of the Dead. Quite genuinely scary in parts and funny all the way through, it's a remarkable balance and it must be hard to achieve. So this film gets extra points for gett... read moreing it bang-on. It's a great setup for a film: seven buddies (one of whom you can just tell is the friend that nobody likes. Just as well then that he spends most of the film in absentia), none of whom have a very good understanding of women, go on a gents-only retreat to cheer up thier friend who's about to get divorced. The village that they pick for thier R&R - Mikey's childhood home of Moodley - has most unfortunately been struck with a curious sort of plague: all the women have durned into zombie-deadites thus creating a significant problem for any male wandering through the streets. Enter our knuckleheads.

I love every character in this film. I have a real soft spot for Danny Dyer, who I also loved in Severance, another favorite british horror-comedy, but all the buddies were unique and great in their own way. I love Matt, the ineffectual comic book hermit who uses toys to fight the undead, I love Mikey, the guy who has a hard time dealing with a zombie he used to go out with, Graham, the gay dude that likes calling his mates fags, Vince, the guy who is the slowest to accept the crazy shit into which everyone is plunged, and Patrick, the guy who drowns out the world with Podcasts espousing serenitude. I even liked Neil the slutty clod, especially when all his buddies expect his casual misogyny to make him an expert in bashing in zombitch noggins. I think that anyone calling this film sexist is totally missing the point. In fact, the difficulty the main characters have in combatting female assailants plays for huge laughs. I love this movie.

Heeheehee, "birdflu". And yes, I know that serenitude isn't a word.

A fun ride from start to finish with a good cast, The sexist aspect of the film's made it more fun, Surely not on the same level as Shaun of the Dead but still enjoyable, Hooray for men, hehe

Yes, bros before hoes. That's the whole mantra of the film, it works. Sure, it's not the most complex or ellaborated zombie flick, but gets the job done. It goes straight for the action pieces and that's good. It's a good cast and helps a lot to keep things above the simple mate... read morerial. Female zombies are the perfect excuse to show women being beaten up by men. In its trashy way, the film has just enough exuberance to be classified as harmless. Full Review

A grotesque misogynistic romp, Doghouse is too laddish and corny to even hold a candle to the witty Shaun Of The Dead. Perhaps Lesbian Vampire Killers wasn't so bad after all. Full Review
