One day their pusher sends them to New York to act as go-betweens for a deal with an untrustworthy contact. The deal goes awry, and Eddie and Miles end up penniless and stranded in the Big Apple. They find themselves hanging out with a group of street kids squatting in an abandoned, condemned tenement, and there their paths begin separating. Eddie ends up with a girl friend, Tara (Lisa Ristorucci), who gets him hooked on heroin, while Miles meets Rachel (Elizabeth Horsburgh), a pretty college student who gives him a place to styay and helps him find work at the café where she waits tables. As Eddie's life rapidly rushes towards tragedy, Miles' slowly improves. Dog Run was screened at the 1996 Toronto Film Festival, though it was 2001 before the film received it's first theatrical engagements in New York. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
