El Orejón may be... read more read more... one of the most notorious crime bosses in Columbia, yet despite his violent reputation, the agoraphobic don rarely ventures outside of his luxury high-rise apartment -- instead opting to keep tabs on the streets via the many telescopes that line his windowed walls. After his godson William is brutally gunned down, a vengeful El Orejón implores voodoo priestess Iris to put a hex on the triggerman. At the exact same time, miles away, small-town thug Victor sets out to collect some missing money from two scheming twins. When Victor decides to skirt the laws of the street and keep the cash for himself, the disastrous chain reaction caused by his decision gains so much momentum that it may be impossible to stop. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Bloody and slow paced gangster movie. Some interesting atmospheres but the themes are overused and consequently lacking in interest and originality. the performances are quite good, except for an exaggerated Blas Jaramillo, too bad because this was his last one.

A gritty Colombian ganster flick! Perro Come Perro deals with temptation, betrayal and all those other goodies in between the drug dealing underworld of Cali, Colombia. An incredible cast of characters are thrown into this story, each twisted and two faced that ultimately leave y... read moreou to decide who to root for, the title alone should resemble some of what I mean (Dog Eat Dog)The film's story doesn't stereotype Colombia, it shows us that this can happen anywhere and the decisions made in the film are the result of that. Director Carlos Moreno's vision embellishes the tough and hussle life of drug trafficking in a world full of traitors. The film has good twists and very violent scenes. Álvaro Rodríguez brings comic relief, who's mischievous character has great one liners. Look for him in "Plata O Plomo"(Nov 2008). Blas Jaramillo plays one vicious ganster and Marlon Moreno brings dilema & conflict to our main character.
    Favorite Scene: Death by chainsaw.

With a background in television and music videos, director Carlos Moreno's feature debut is mighty shallow. Its bloodshed carries little weight; the sporadic humor is cheap and casually racist. Full Review

A dark crime thriller low on suspense, but at least it manages to be moderately compelling, invigorating and somewhat of a guilty pleasure, as long as you don't have a weak stomach for violence. Full Review
