Without any of the spark of the original this second Dirty Dancing film is a giant disappointment to every expectant woman looking forward to the same sex appeal of Swayze we were graced with in the original. Set in revolutionary Cuba, much of the film decided to saturate itself ... read more

Wow! Nice dancing romantic set against the Cuban Revolution in the late 1950s between a poor Cuban waiter and rich and pretty British girl. Class lines are crossed, families overcome prejudice, and the dances, well, they must be danced!

It brings together a decent story, with hot music and a time/setting of Cuba is a brilliant setting, the colourful surroundings bring to life a surreal feeling that captures the summer buzz of the movie perfectly.

The fact that this is basically "Dirty Dancing 2" should give you a good enough idea of how good the movie is. But Romola Garai and hot Latin dancing gets a thumbs up in my book :)
Critic Reviews
Next to Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, the first picture is like something out of the golden age of Hollywood. Full Review
Tries to add Cuban flavor to a familiar plot but comes up with nothing more than a bubbling stew of cliches.
Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights does have some sexy music and a few good dance sequences in a steamy nightclub, but the story is terribly contrived and the lead actors have zero chemistry. Full Review
A routine Hollywood high school morality play.
Doesn't begin to live up to the giddy energy, romance and terrific dancing of its progenitor. Full Review
Jansen might not be the best storyteller, but she's a wonderful choreographer, adapting the styles of her stars (both nondancers before the movie) to complement each other beautifully. Full Review
This film is too noble to get down and dirty. Full Review
Becomes laugh-out-loud awful, with dreadful, lame lines delivered painfully badly -- as if a different screenwriter and director had taken over for the movie's final act.
