While this movie is completely ridiculous and corny, it's still fun to see Stephen Dorff being the bizarre person he is. There's actually some really good things about the movie, there's some very decent acting from Brad Renfro and Balthazar Getty, but the majority is just a rip-... read more

Not bad, too cliche at times and predictable resolution, but still not bad. I guess it helps that i'm a sucker for 50s retro stuff. Fairuza Balk also looks hot in some kind of weird way.

An explosive gangland drama, the best film of it's kind since The Outsiders. An electrifying film that explodes with action and a powerful cast of superb talents and gifted new comers. It has style and groove thats all it's own

Pretty cool, but lacks the high budget fight scenes... which I find to be a significant piece of the puzzle fo this movie. Other than that, its an excellent "The Oustiders" and "Goodfellas" hybrid.

A weak gangland movie in the vein of The Outsiders. We also have a star from that movie in the form of Fritzy (Matt Dillon) as the head mob boss of the city. Everything goes through him. Frankly, I think he played a horrible role and it's good he wasn't mentioned on the forefront... read more

This has some of the best fight scenes I've seen. No special effects, just hand-to-hand, punch you in the ear.

I thought this was an excellent movie. i like movies that deal way back in the 50's in the 60s...it may not be the best movie, but it's still a great movie
Critic Reviews
Slow-motion shots of swaggering tough guys punctuate this painfully hackneyed gang drama set in late-50s Brooklyn. Full Review
The script from first-timers Paul Kimatian and Christopher Gambale requires Dillon to say corny things like: 'Bricks don't fall outta the sky in this neighborhood unless I'm throwin' 'em.' Tony Sopran... Full Review
Propelled not by characters but by caricatures.
No telegraphing is too obvious or simplistic for this movie.
If there's a heaven for bad movies, Deuces Wild is on its way. Full Review
Deuces Wild is a beautifully textured movie with its heart in the right place. Yet it badly wants a mature sense of esthetic balance, restraint and decorum. Full Review
It's tough to tell which is in more abundant supply in this woefully hackneyed movie, directed by Scott Kalvert, about street gangs and turf wars in 1958 Brooklyn -- stale cliches, gratuitous violence... Full Review
It's clear why Deuces Wild, which was shot two years ago, has been gathering dust on MGM's shelf.
Brainless, but enjoyably over-the-top, the retro gang melodrama, Deuces Wild represents fifties teen-gang machismo in a way that borders on rough-trade homo-eroticism. Full Review
