    Boring and not so funny.
  • June 25, 2008
    Weak.

Disappointing misfire, too bad, it has a terrific cast. Sigourney Weaver is the only bright spot in this movie however. It?s just not that funny, it?s pacing is very uneven, as are the laughs. It?s not without a few good scenes, but as a whole it just doesn?t work. It could have ... read morebeen a funny and biting satire, but is instead an oafish slapstick comedy with extreme characters and situations.

Great idea; so-so execution. Needed a script polish, better production and someone to replace Chase. An actor with comic sensibilities instead of a comic that thinks he can act.
  • July 30, 2008
William Friedkin's comedy is not so much a Chevy Chase vehicle as a armed missile launcher dud fizzling out before it reaches its target.

I would have been thrilled to revisit this one and walk away calling it "sadly misunderstood" or "seriously underrated," but the thing's an absolute mess from stem to stern. Full Review
