Just a poorly animated and terribly written rip-off of so many space set horrors. Most notably the Alien saga. The animation is jolty and is certainly missing frames. This doesn't work well during the action scenes and there is no fluidity. The characters are complete abomination... read more

It's ok to pass 90mins or there abouts, but it ain't going to win any awards. As gory as they could make it, but lacking any real quality either with the script or animation.

Straight forward, gory animated horror/sci-fi hybrid. You've seen it all before, but if you like this sort of thing it will hold your attention.

Based on a comic series and taking place just prior to where the game starts, this is a weak attempt to piggyback off of a video game release.
Sadly there is nothing innovative here, least of all the story.
Which I might have been able to overlooked if the animation was interes... read more -

A prequel to the incredible action horror video game. If you haven't played it yet, and are a fan of survival horror or shooters, you're missing out on one of the best games to hit all platforms in the last several years.
This useless movie does nothing for fans of that game or ... read more -

While I wasn't screaming or closing my eyes, I WAS loudly cussing out the characters the duration of the film. I enjoyed it because it scared me without leaving me an emotional heap shaking in the corner, lol. I was against watching this film at first because it just seemed like ... read more

I seemed to like this movie. It was bloody, gory, and entertaining, this is what a horror video game movie adaptation should be like. It's not perfect, but its still good, I love Dead Space the video game, and I like the movie.
Critic Reviews
There's nothing bright and sunny about Dead Space: Downfall. It's brutal, unrelenting, and savage. Bodies are torn, eviscerated, and mutilated ... This is no kids' show. Full Review
