I really really really wish that Munroe's unproduced animated film Cat Tale was released instead of this. Crap that's absolutely trashy. I hated this movie. Cat Tale would definetely better than this. Even if its bad.

Silly junk has ludicrous situations and mostly uninspired acting but Sam Huntington is enjoyably glib and charmingly goofy.

Cheap in just about every aspect, Dylan Dog is a monster noir that turns out to be one dog of a film. The conceit of a private detective for the monster world is a pretty keen idea and one that could certainly have fun skewering genre conventions. But this movie is not clever, no... read more

One of the best and most enjoyable genre movies of the year. A wickedly entertaining and wildly inventive mash-up. A whole new genre of dark fantasy filmmaking that blends crime-fighting and humor in this tongue-in-cheek supernatural horror in the spirit of Zombieland and Shaun o... read more

Italian source material in an American setting breeds potential, culture, and flare. However, in the case of 'Dylan Dog' it breeds an unstylistic, flat, and often boring film that treads water between its standout scenes. Like the monotonic voice of its trying lead, 'Dylan Dog' i... read more

August 6, 2011fb100000145236770Great concept, poor execution. The movies about a private investigator for the undead. He deals with werewolves, vampire, zombies, and other monsters. Sounded pretty cool to me, but they got a lot wrong with this movie. First, Dylan Dog is the P.I. and he tries to be witty an... read more

Living investigator. Undead clients. Zombie partner.
Not bad of a movie. This was a cool but slow movie based on a comic book. It has a more or less decent story which at times bored me and other times entertained. While Brandon Routh has a limited acting range, his physique act... read more

Brings vampires, werewolves, zombies, detective noir and spoofy comedy together for a murky genre gumbo with barely any flavor. Full Review
A monster mash and genre mash-up that leaves one pining for the swagger of Hellboy. Full Review
A cluttered, uninspired hash of familiar genre ideas. Full Review
Put a stake in this film noir monster movie, it's done. Full Review
Never mind that Dylan Dog: Dead of Night is loosely based on an Italian comic series from the 1980s; this low-rent adaptation owes an embarrassingly big blood debt to HBO's True Blood. Full Review
As the title character, Routh has to carry the movie with bravado and charm, appearing in most every scene, narrating in the style of a hundred film noir private eyes. And he just doesn't have it. Full Review
A pointless, very loose adaptation of the popular Italian comic that plays like a bad episode of Buffy. Full Review
Dylan Dog works best when it has fun with P.I. conventions; when the monsters take over, it goes downhill. Full Review
The movie wants to be a combination film noir and horror comedy, but the timing is all off and the performances are flat across the board. Full Review
