Anime about a man with a television for a head and a woman with mismatched eyes who wake up with amnesia, are imprisoned on the moon, have a baby and kill lots of things. It's hyperactively paced with animation styles that change every few seconds, and it has almost no comprehen... read moresible plot; watching it is like putting an ultraviolet manga into a blender and trying to read it as the pieces swirl around. The artwork is great but the whole experience is kind of tiring.

Downright fucking detestable. This is what gives anime a bad name. The animation may be "fluid", but it's ugly and unpleasant to look at.

This is like getting shit on through animation.

This was like an insane bastard child between Aeon Flux, Fooly Cooly, Tank Girl, and Invader Zim. The action was non stop, and the visuals were complete eye candy. Totally crazy from start to finish, and deserves to be watched even if just for its uniqueness. Stunning to behold a... read morend funny to boot. I really enjoyed watching it.

Soo soo strange. I enjoyed the special features with subtitles, and would have enjoyed the movie with subtitles too, has that been an option. A little bit raunchier and crude than I first remembered

I'm not exactly sure what was happening here, but damned if it wasn't a lot of fun! The animation is energetic, over the top and filled with scatalogical humor at every turn.

A fun little romp, and a good way to kill an hour.

    Rental.

Every now and then I enjoy the outright absurd. I think in many a viewer's opinion Dead Leaves could almost be described as obscene. I won't even criticize the plot or set pieces because the writers have applied so much effort into convoluting them it'd be pointless. In te... read morerms of the wierd and wacky this is the top dog, primarily because the superhuman abilities of most of the characters is never explained, never even hinted at beyond "biological experiments". I must be missing something. Ah, what the hell. It's not really important for a film like this. You just have to sit back and enjoy it.

I need to catch my breath before I talk about this movie.

    Alright.

This is by far the craziest fifty-five minutes I have ever spent watching an anime, but what do you expect from the art director of FLCL? It's a pure cyber-kinetic adrenaline rush from start to finish, with bull... read moreets flying and bodies dying. The premise is pretty bland, but the style completely makes up for it. However, after a while you start to crave for more substance over style but I didn't mind. It's a nice piece of animation that you can shut your mind off and enjoy.

Action packed anime, like literallly non stop every 30 seconds something twisted and chaotic happens. The creative art of the violence was tickling.

Amazingly badass high pace action - the animation is absolutely fantastic. They did a beautiful job with this. The art is super.

Dead Leaves is one of the most fucked up experiences you can have while watching a movie. And you can do it all in Japanese. The characters, Pand and Tretro are fucked up. Retro has a TV for a head? Why... WHO CARES... IT'S A TV... AND IT'S HIS HEAD

After a crazy killing spree t... read morehey end up on a space station called Dead Leaves that is now their prison... on this prison they fuck... they meet a guy with a huge drill for a cock and they kill hundreds upon thousands of guards including two rather fucked up ones. The end is the most insane thing and it knows it... the movie doesn't try to hide the fact that it's totally out of it's mind, and it's really the first anime that i've ever seen that seems to be made for stoners. I don't know if there are that many stoners in Japan... but if there are, this must be their video bible.
