Roger Mortis and Doug Bigelow are cops that are chasing crooks that are dead serious about crime. Or should I say they are chasing dead crooks perpetrating serious crimes? Seems some nutcase has learn... read more read more...ed how to bring back the dead and is sending them on crime sprees. Now these indestructable goons are in the way of officers Mortis and Bigelow. To even things up, when Mortis is killed (in the line of duty, of course) he gets a jump start from the Resurrection machine and takes the fight to the zombie bad guys.

This movie is utterly ridiculous, mindless ,and forgettable. Having said that, it was kinda fun, and the special effects are done nicely, so it wasn't too horrible to watch. In fact it's a black comedy mixed with a buddy cop comedy, so it does make you laugh a bit, but with a com... read morebination like that you have to be careful. This movie is not careful enough with that balance, and it comes off as neither over the top cheesy goodness, nor a masterpiece, just something in between. The story starts to get muddled, the machine is over used, the actors are annoying. It's an okay movie, overall, but not good.

Hahaha now this was a fun flick, Treat Williams, who looks Strangely like Bill Pullman, is pretty cool here. Piscopo looks solid n buffed and apart from the non funny lines its a great blast. Wicked 80's style everything, effects, clothes, cars etc...Steve Johnson did the effects... read more, thats how I found out about this, in a monster effects book, saw the three faced zombie and thought, yep, I gotta see that.

Way bettter than it had any right to be...but the concept alone makes it worth seeing

Fun mindless zombie epic! it's a horror action comedy with Treat Williams and Joe Piscopo as a couple of cops kicking the asses of many zombies while one of them has many hours before he can die.

    It's 48 Hours meets Re-Animator, it's great fun.

I usually love a crime story that veers into horror territory, but this missed the target somewhat. Still, sometimes just the effort needs some applause.

Total cheese. Joe Piscopo is one of the leads...so...uh...cheese. The straight guy is Treat Williams. So...uh...more cheese. This is easily the cheesiest movie I've seen.

Leave it to the ?80s for movie producers to come up with a zombie buddy-cop movie. Treat Williams plays a tough guy detective who gets infected after a scuffle with undead bank robbers under the control of Vincent Price. So yeah, don?t worry about trying to take this one seriou... read moresly. Movie Moment: Our heroes getting attacked by reanimated Peking duck and Hunan beef.

Panned in its day, but a ton of fun now that it isn't part of an overwhelming glut of buddy cop pictures, Deah Heat is a high concept and (at times) ridiculously violent action/horror comedy hybrid. The biggest misstep, sad to say, is Joe Piscopo, whom I usually enjoy but was giv... read moreen some pretty bad one-liners and didn't quite deliver well enough to make them work. There is, however, a fairly long stretch of the movie from which he is absent, which is a hell of a lot of fun. Throw some genre favorites such as Vincent Price and Darren McGavin in there and it all adds up to a flawed but terrifically fun bit of 80's cross genre filmmaking.

Mindless but harmless zombie/buddy-cop comedy has, surprisingly, good performances from the two leads (well, Williams is usually good, but Piscopo was a surprise) and a good turn from Vincent Price in one of his later roles.

Chuck O'Leary, Fantastica Daily

A real stinker in 1988, and it hasn't improved with age.

Rob Vaux, Flipside Movie Emporium

Despite the overwhelming demand for Treat Williams/Joe Piscopo team-ups, this effort remains surprisingly hard to find.
