Claire Foster: If I'm gonna get whacked off, I at least deserve to understand why it's happening... What are you smiling about?
"One ordinary couple. One little white lie."
I liked Date Night a lot more than I thought I would. I didn't know much about it going in and that help... read more -

I found this a lot funnier than I expected it to be! The leads have a good chemistry as a simple date night turns out to be a night on the run from some bad guys after a case of mistaken identity. The cast has some cool cameos along the way and just the right mix of action, slaps... read more

Funny movie. A married couple decide to spice up their life by going on a date. They couldn't get a table so took someone else's reservation. Then they are mistaken for blackmailers. Here starts their nightmare of being chased by bent cops for a flashdrive with evidence. My favou... read more

July 21, 2011fb535316333For the most part, disappointing. Date Night rarely utilizes the charisma and quick wit of it's leads. The story itself has trouble gaining any sort of momentum as well, it's a bumpy ride at best.
Still, there are a few scenes that are downright enjoyable but when it's so poorly... read more -

'Date Night' finds an honest amount of fun, despite its many flaws. This fun spawns directly from all the great stars of the film, whether it be Carell, Fey, Franco, Kunis, or Whalberg. With talent like this, the film has to be enjoyable, even if the direction is a little misguid... read more

Phil Foster: Put on a fucking shirt!
Hilarious movie starring my two favorite people! Watch this if you enjoy non-stop comedy! Just pointing out that it's not meant to be flawless it's just meant to entertain and it succeeds in doing that. -

A funny movie, but truly the end was the only part I almost peed my pants laughing at. It can drag on a lot, but it can also score with flying colors. Steve Carell and Tina Fey are great together. The plot just gets crazier and crazier and follows that "The Hangover" feel that... read more

Not as good as one would hope with Fey and Carrell. The plot runs thin and the jokes mainly revolve around miscellaneous chaos.

Fey, in particular, finds herself in the situation of a prima ballerina unaccountably dancing with the Rockettes. Full Review
In three or four scenes, they get a rhythm going, but the editing is smash-and-bash. Shawn Levy is not a director who honors performers' rhythms. Full Review
Tina Fey is really funny. Steve Carell is really funny. Date Night stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell. Ergo, Date Night must be really ... sorry, I wish it worked that way almost as much as the studios d... Full Review
Its slapstick story of a married couple enduring outrageous fortune offers a lot of laughs, a bit of romance and plenty for either sex to relate to. Full Review
The screenplay, by Josh Klausner, proves that the easy laugh isn't always the best. Full Review
Carell and Fey really are like Fred and Ginger, so smooth and sure-footed in their comic grace(lessness) and timing. Full Review
Mr. Carell and Ms. Fey might have been able to pull it off -- if they had only been permitted to try.
A very mild recommendation, only because the immensely funny and appealing stars outshine the pedestrian material. Their respective sitcoms are funnier and more sophisticated than this movie. Full Review
In the hands of, say, a Greg Kinnear and a Sarah Jessica Parker, the thing could be a disaster. It's not. Not by a long shot. Full Review
